This is a great wine even thought it’s young. Powerful and complex with meatines and spices from the Syrah and fruit from the Grenache in perfect balance. I believe thi wine will be terrific in just 5-10 years.

The aroma has a meaty undertone to the raspberry puree and pepper scents, balanced with full body and elegant structure, opens and feathers out with air, beautiful and layered, upfront flavors of raspberry, blackberry, licorice, spices and tea leaf, explosive, and so pure and polished, many more years of development ahead but really nice already, especially good with BBQ ribs and steak

2024 Guigal single vineyard cote rotie release dinner (Bottega Coco) : Big and bold red berry fruit, sweet spice, slightly oaky, a little plummy underpin, touch of alcohol warmth lends this a sense of clumsiness on the nose. Juicy, fleshy and equally boldly fruited here, talc textured tannins with a little savoury note. Hmm.

Tasted at the Wine Spectator Grand Tour. I enjoyed this wine very much. it looks like the same or similar wine can be got at Costco. I wonder if it is any different?

Wine Spectator Grand Tour (Resorts World, Las Vegas, NV) : This deep ruby wine is a blend of 65% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre. Intensely aromatic, it flaunts scents of black and red bramble fruits, blood oranges, Provençal herbs, licorice, exotic spices and tobacco. Full-bodied and with lively acids, it delivers flavors mirroring the nose, with a proportionate amount of oak, well-integrated alcohol (despite weighing in at 15.5%) and an abundance of sweet tannins. Layered on the mid-palate and …

Fresh baked chocolate chip cookies dominate the nose somehow. Smooth, dry, youthful palate. Full, medium intensity tannins on the longish finish. This is good. Raw materials are there, but some cellar time is advisable. Tasted at Wine Spectator’s Grand Tour in New Orleans. Very fun.

Medium ruby color. Had high hopes for this wine given the great reviews and high price tag. The nose is red fruit, vanilla, tobacco, all overwhelmed by alcohol (with a couple hours, the nose did come together a bit better). Palate is a bit better with red fruit, black pepper, spice box, but still being overwhelmed by alcohol. This bottle is 15.5% and you smell and taste every bit of it. Maybe I just got a poorly handled bottle, but …

Guigal's wines from the Côte-Rôtie with Philippe Guigal (Zoom) : Wine 1 of 6. A blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 8% Mourvèdre, and 2% Counoise & Muscardin. 15.5% ABV. Glass staining dark ruby colour. Ripe red and dark fruit, ripe raspberry, black currant, blackberry, dark chocolate, complex herbal and spice notes, and some smoke, with good acidity in the context of the wine's ripeness, ripe, very round tannin, and superb length. Finishes lightly dry (not drying). Very supple. The …

Elegant, silky, lush and ripe, the wine almost overflows with notes of flowers, spice, dark and bright red fruits, kirsch and a background note of smoke. There is depth, richness and vibrancy as well, giving you balance, layers of fruit and a silky, refined, energetic, rich finish. The wine blends 65% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre. Drink from 2023 - 2034
