Small wine event (My house) : This is very expressive and qualitatively its up there with a Condrieu from a good producer. Fresh. Citrus, tropicali fruits, white flowers. I'm not a huge fan of Viognier but this is a great example.

Distinctive nose of fruit loops. Dried mango on the palate with a long lemon zest and gravel finish.

Fantastic. I usually shy away from Marsanne-Roussanne, especially from the States. I find it too heavy, sweet, and/or just trying to do too much. This stuff is amazing both for its lightness and for its complexity.

At a large group blind tasting, this was one of four Southern Rhone whites and was unanimously agreed to be New World due to the round chardonnay-like character.

Honeysuckle and stone fruit/peach on the nose with a little matchstick. Citrusy palate with a bit of oily density. Very long finish. Distinctive wine.

2nd bottle not as good, too oaky. Some bottle variation from the first. 2nd day, got better.

Tropical fruits. Citrus. Floral. Its very aromatic. lush. Superb with halibut and orzo salad. Kobayashi Whites are some of the best WA state has to offer.

White Flowers, and tropical fruit aromas. Tropical fruit carries through on the palate along with some lemon zest. Insanely long finish. Rich and mineral driven.

I find the sweet nose a little disconcerting - it makes me think I’m about to chew a stick of Juicy Fruit. That said, the palate is nicely balanced and a welcome taste after the initial whiff. Much more white flower than the tropical fruit I get on the nose. Solid acidity. Bottom line, it’s tasty juice.

All kinds of stuff happening in this wine. Dark gold color with quite a saline nose. Taste has honey, stone fruit, and white pepper Taking a bit to open up but really interesting.

Fantastic. We all thought it was French and knew it couldn't be Chard, but loved it all around. 12+ questions and we couldn't place it without hints. Spectacular wine, I must buy some.

Very fragrant nose chock full of florals, ripe melon, and nuts. Very well balanced and powerful in the mouth. Some honey notes start the transition to the generous finish. Complex and well balanced.

Absolutely stunning. Fruits silky, spicey, and full of life. Mouthfeel is medium to full body and stands up to hearty meal, fried rice with sausage in this case. Probably my favorite Kobayashi wine of the half dozen or so that I have tasted.

IG Crew Back At It : Floral lift, lemon, graphite, musk and pear. Displays the right mix of flavor intensity versus restraint. Viscous and yet still refined. Superb, long and beautiful. Stunned.

Mild lemon custard on the front moving to black licorice/anise on the back on the tongue and finish. Full in the mouth. Robust and clean. Another master wine from Kobayashi.

PNP. Best Viognier I've ever head and will undoubtedly improve over time. Wish I had more.

As others have noted, this becomes more expressive and opens up with air. Muted when chilled, cellar temperature and slightly above is the sweet spot for the best showing of this. Excellent.

Still undecided if I like the WeatherEye or Boushey versions of this wine better...for right now, I'm going with Boushey. This was excellent wine, but seemed like it was not quite at the level of mouthfeel of the 2021 Boushey. Pear and honeysuckle, maybe a bit of melon in there? Nice acidity and a bit of sweetness on the finish. Looking forward to seeing how this evolves!

Popped and poured then let sit on the glass for an hour. First and foremost, give this wine at least an hour of air and make sure it's not too cold. I, of course, being the impatient sucker I am tried to immediately drink this puppy and had to back off for an hour to let it open up and warm. Once the wine was allowed to strut its stuff, it blossomed into one of the best domestic white Rhones …

Too young still - it needed a night or two under a cork to let some of the strong floral/tropical fruit abate, but with that air, it regained balance and was tasty.

Outstanding nose and even more distinctive palate - luxurious mouthfeel and a unique layering of fruit balanced appropriately with enough acid to keep us wanting more. Well made wine.

Tasted blind a wine tasting. My bottle. The consensus Northern Rhône. It’s a beautiful rendition. Rich, with Pear and other white orchard fruit, an intense mineral edge, and brisk acidity.

Big fruit and body, well rounded, wonder if there is oak influence. Very nice mineral underpinning and long finish. This should evolve nicely for some time.

Wow! What a wine. I like whites and don’t drink them enough, this will knock your socks. Big notes of pear, pale straw and a rich full finish. It’s seldom I use unctuous, but this wine exhibits it. Great stuff!

Color: yellow with a tinge of gold. On the nose, immediately rich, nutty, saline, and fruity with citrus and tropical notes. The palate follows similarly with a complex mix of honey, pear and lemon curd combined with texture. Muscadet like. Give this some air and deep, gorgeous florals will emerge. This was best after an hour or two open; a few hours later and those delicate aromas have faded, so I wouldn't keep this open too long.
