Cool, mineral, quite precise. Has a very local feel with plenty of mixed herbs and a sound Grenache in the background. Very juicy with some air. Tasted vis-a-vis the Saint Cosme and the Bouïssiere, this reminds most of the latter - certainly in terms of freshness. #HomeAlone

I think the fruit may be starting to drop. While still bold, I found it to be a little less expressive. Still a wonderful wine.

Red dark fruits, pepper and soft spices, Full-bodied, rich, warm and juicy. Mostly grenache + some syrah. A Gigondas which you don't have to keep too long before drinking, that means: drink now!

Needs a little bit of air, then it sings. Drinking a point, softened tannins, sweet Grenache, great local feel, garrigue galore. Will keep, but everything is in place now. #Kandestederne#P&AM

Very fine for the vintage; chalky, serious nose, cool, dry, cristal clear with fine pure Grenache behind. Drinking well, will hold 5+ years no prob. #lederkollegiet

Previous bottle was tainted, so probably not a good evaluation on this one. It was lacking in tannin and fruit was not as bright as expected

Tasted vis-a-vis Cayron, this has a bit more to offer at this stage; concentrated wine with a core of kirsch, sweet Grenache and a local feel, that starts appearing - slowly. Herbs galore, well structured. Still very young indeed. #Henrik&Britta

Even 90+, but this wine has, at this moment, not the complexity for more points, but nonetheless a lovely wine with fat cherries, and a fresh acidity, than a punch of real concentration, becoming creamy in the midtaste and a firm finish, a bit raw but balanced.

Stewed dark cherry, licorice, almost nutty. Heady alcohol making this wine taste like a liqueur. Labeled 15%, could be north of that. Structure is supple, moderate acidity and soft tannins. Not uninteresting and quite dense but also quite heavy and lacking of freshness in my opinion. Not for every occasion, would pair better with rich hearty dishes. Compared to other comments below and despite the combination of prestigious appellation and phenomenal vintage, I do not foresee a long ageing for …

A blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah, this has all kinds of red berry aromas like ripe, dark red cherry, sappy, cherry liqueur, raspberry, stewed/baked red berry, eventually revealing floral and pepper spice notes. It is medium-full bodied on the palate with very good fruit concentration with more spice, red berry, cherry, and hints of peppery spice flavours. It is structured with chalky tannins, balanced acidity, while the finish length is excellent.

Still young and fresh with a backbone of minerals and primary fruit; grenache is here, but there is a cool, dark and precise air to this wine, certainly showing off the terroir. Where's the beef? Right here, Sir. Will live a long time.

CV. Dark red, red tinge, 5.5. Wonderful southern Rhône bouquet, garrigue, dark fruits, herbs, thyme, rosemary... Harmonious palate, some tannin, bitterness in the long finish. Drink now-2026. This has certainly evolved in to a classic Gigondas to be enjoyed with a solid meal.

Well, my last bottle and of course, it is the best by far. Should have waited on the other ones. That said, the double decant and slow ox for 7 hours helped expand the flavour profile a lot. A seamless balanced wine. Great!

Weekly tasting group RWP #250: Rhône; Gigondas Part 2 (@ BS) : In the bouquet ripe dark berries and cherries, garrigue and cinnamon. On the palate the same dark fruits, red currants as well, some chocolate, herbs and spices juicy acidity and round tannin. Concentrated wine. There is some sweetness as well and the alcohol shows a bit. Nevertheless an excellent wine with a future of another 3+ years.

Monthly Tuesday group #010: Southern Rhône excluding C9duP. (By JdB) : Beautiful and still primary bouquet with ripe cherries, red and dark berries, and beautiful herbs and spices. On the palate a sweet start with the same ripe fruits, some chocolate and white pepper, good garrigue, acidity and round, soft tannin. Still youthful and already a pleasure. The nose displayed a dark yet lifted mix of blackberry, charred meats, pepper and violet floral tones, growing richer and spicier with time in the glass. On the palate, it was light to medium weight, but made up for it in pure black fruits which seemed to flesh out in all directions, accompanied by hints of spice and dark inner floral tones. The finish was long with bitter blackberry and a hint of citrus. This was perfectly balanced and enjoyable …

young, rich and concentrated, this is still a cool cat with loads of minerals and garrigue to follow; took this one for the team (my team) as I have 12 (11), but it is much to young to drink, and I shall wait a couple of years before cracking the next one. The balance is fine indeed, and I thinki it will drink very well for10+ years.

40 years old vineyards on sands and clay, majority grenache with syrah. Sweet alcohol, light heat. Expressive and age evolved aromatics (cooked fruit). Very fresh acidity, grippy tannins. Quite long. I have purchased two bottles at the winery. I will hold the other one for longer.

New Years Eve - Family Friends and Fun : young. this is 80% Gren and 20% Syr. - but the nose shows more syrah - with rich ripe blackberry and sweaty, meaty component. with time - the cranberry pops up. Young wine - mid is rich and ripe with lush, mouthcoating fruit. finish has a deep note of herbs and spices.

Medium intensity aromatics, showing some sweet fruit, hints of kirsch and plenty of oak. Clearly developing some secondary characteristics, but not integrated yet. The tannins remain prominent, even as the development of the wine shows here with leather and earth flavours evident on the palate. The wine still shows some fruit sweetness, but the alcohol is well hidden in this full-bodied red. A good wine for the price now, this red will continue to improve over the next two or …
