I decanted for an hour and that’s all it needed. Really well balanced. Medium tannins. Plenty of fruit.

Wow - Decant 4 hours - drank in Zalto Glasswear - and let me tell you this wine is huge. Bold fruit, smooth, I'm saddened I only have 1 from when I first joined Miner wine club. Honestly, if you can find this wine, get it. It's ready now and on election victory night, glad I had this wine.

Nicely rounded and complex. Enjoyed it for Mother’s Day 2020 with filet mignon celebrating during COVID-19 shut in.

Drinking well now. If you have some, drink up. Notes of blackberry, leather, high carbon steel and cauliflower.

Nary a hint of age in its color. A nose of red fruit, touch of oak. The palate reads red raspberry, red cherry, vanilla. A hint of forest floor to suggest its age, but not much. Tannins that hit firmly, but not overwhelmingly so. They like to sit on the front of the palate and not move any further back. A nice moderate to long finish with no bitterness. This wine is singing right now. And, based on its structure, …

Decanted >3 hours. It has been 8 years laying since the last time we drank a bottle of this. My notes indicated nice but not a blow away wine. Well, this baby has grown up. Big bold dark red fruit with smoke, earth, vanilla and pepper. It has moved towards Cab (only 52%) but is now in the Wow category. Sorry to see this go. In a great window right now.

Past peak for flavor however still had a soft tanic structure with a velvety finish. Curious if the flavor profile held up how long this could lay down

Medium to full body. Pairs well with grilled bone in ribeye. Robust in a California way yet elegant and refined.

A ruby wine with an enticing, yet powerful nose of vanilla, juniper, cassis, and berry. Astonishingly soft in the mouth with rich tastes of black currant, vanilla, dark berries. Loads of both berry and vanilla to the point it makes the wine seem sweet.

Nose of black cherry, black currants, and forest floor, paired with beef roast, same on the palate, medium/big body, lots of rich fruit, very tasty, almost elegant, at its best so drink up, and a long finish.

Nose of blackberry, black cherry, and a touch of earth, more of the same on the palate, my last bottle chosen to pair with the Porcini Crusted Filet Mignon at Fleming's for brunch. Bordeaux blend which is at it's peak, lots of rich fruit to taste, elegant, received favorable comments from both servers, medium/big body, smooth, supple, and savory tasting, long, flavorful finish.

Found 2 bottles of this wine behind the 1980's Dunn Howell Mountain, so, I promptly opened one to go with the meat pizza for dinner. Nose of blackberry, currants, ripe mashed cherry fruit, and a touch of dusty earth, more of the same on the palate, showing it's age beautifully, flavors of aged Bordeaux but with more power and fruit, smooth and elegant fruit on the mid palate, easy to sip and drink the entire bottle during the evening, medium …

Tasting of 3 Miner Family Red Wines with Gary, 2004 Oracle, 2001 Oracle and 2006 10th Anniversary Cabernet Sauvignon. Nose of currants, black cherry fruit, very aromatic, more of the same on the palate, almost elegant, has peaked, delicious tasting today, medium/big body, long, flavorful finish. Tasting of 3 Miner Family Red Wines with Gary, 2004 Oracle, 2001 Oracle and 2006 10th Anniversary Cabernet Sauvignon. Red fruits on the nose, berry and cherry on the palate, touch simple on the palate, medium body, waited too long, very tasty but tired and not the equal of the other two wines. My #3 of 3, Gary #3 of 3.

We bought this from the winery this summer as part of a 8 bottle vertical: '01 - '08. This bottle was past its prime. It had a predominate mid-palate of tobacco, leather and some barn yard. We could tell it had a good past; we are guessing that it was best 2 to 3 years ago. Drink up if you have any of these left. We will try the '02 within the next week. Not going to rate this wine …

Absolutely delicious. My wife said "wow" when I handed her the glass. Has the structure, weight and flavors of a very good Bordeaux. Some green, but good green that imparts complexity. Red fruit with balanced acidity and tannins. A fabulous wine. Too bad I only had this one bottle.

Under performing in quality. Expect this state is due to both a sub-par bottling (despite the generally outstanding character of this vintage for Napa on whole) and age.

What a great bottle of wine. I wasn't a fan of the 01 Oracle when I first had it a few years ago, but man it's really come into it's own. I'm hearing similar things about many 01 Napa cab based wines. Tannins fully resolved with loads of fruit. A well balanced wine that is drinking great right now. I don't see it getting much better.

Last bottle. Popped and poured. Aromas of earth, cedar, some vegetal characters, and black fruits were present. Tannins have softened completely and wine remains balanced and elegant. Very complex and bordeaux like. Med to long finish.

Pop & pour. Pretty aromas of cedar intermixed with chocolate & coffee scents & some black fruits. The only flaw was the slight alcoholic finish detected on the back end. Medium finish, with sweet tannins integrated nicely. Balanced & elegant. A complete departure from the wine I tasted on 10/21, which I now think I must have consumed an off bottle! Anyway, really enjoyed the wine. I think the wine is at its peak, and I don't think it will …

Chewy and big. Straight forward fruit on the nose, with tons of chocolate and coffee notes. Drank most of bottle before leaving for dinner. Brad tried a few sips 5 hours later and said the wine had turned too much. Tried the next day, barely palatable -- though lovely out of the bottle.

My wife and I were lucky enough to sample a vertical tasting of the first three releases of the Oracle wine from Miner. The 2001, 2002, 2003. Tasting Notes: 2001: The wine came off slightly astringent, possibly high alcohol, but still nice. 2002: Well balanced, full and fruity. I didn't find it quite as complex or maybe age worthy as the '03. This was my wife's favorite. 2003: Well balanced, a little more tannins than the 2002. The overall charecter …

A lot better than I remember a year ago! Came togetherinto something very bordeaux-like. Dark fruit, smooth tannins, earthy/leather with some 'green' notes on finish. After a glass or two recorked and forgotten in cellar for 4 days. Better! Green-ness gone, Dark fruit remains fresh with reasonable balance of tannins and earth (a little tired of course). Worth holding onto maybe.
