Dark color; nose of Piedmont, sandy, rusty, cedar, sandalwood, dried fruit, also some weird pickled note along with green pepper and cigar; substantial, cabby; fierce but tasty; definitely interesting.

Had it at a restaurant and it was consistent with a year ago. No signs of ageing, in fact it seemed a little tighter and more tannic than a year ago. It would probably benefit from 2-3 years more ageing, but perhaps the key is a good decant. Recommended with food. A deep, muscular wine, which is a very good value given its provenance.

This is a great New-World style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot. Syrah and Nebbiolo, which still retains a classic Piedmontese elegance. It is drinking beautifully now. It has a beautiful nose of black fruit, spice and roses. On the palate it is smooth, round and rich, with lots of ripe juicy fruit. The alcohol is 14.5% but not very noticeable as all elements are nicely integrated. I couldn't understand whiy this wine is being sold at such a huge discount …

Yummy - let it decant, went great with Lasagne. Deep dark fruits.
