Just OK

Light-mid brick; earthy nose; red fruit, minerals, wood; mid body, acids; softening tannins; long elegant, balanced finish. 17 UC Davis scale, 92 other scales.

Followed over 2 nights. Aromatics really jump from the glass. Leans a bit green but I found this intriguing rather than bothersome. Palate is crisp, a bit lean and has some bitterness to the tannin. Nice tart red cherry core. Quite nice. Probably could still use some time.

Decanted an hour. This is light and austere, but with reasonable fruit and will probably get a little better with a few more years. With 90 minutes of air it drinks well with food and I think is drinking a little better than the 2002 at this point in time. Good wine, no complaints, and might improve a bit - just not worth it in this vintage. A-

Quite dark; classic nose, no signs of '04 greenness, expressive; good weight, reflects its status. frank, compact. Never unfolds & unlikely to ever shine.

Limpid crimson. Pronounced nose, sweet red fruit, strawberries, some sous bois development, a hint of Asian spice. Sweet start, round, full, plenty of red fruits, delicate tannins, moderate acidity. A good finish, ending with a leather and spice note. Very enjoyable.

Pass, Professional Ratings are wrong on this one. Some full fruit, but its overpowered by a greeness and awkwardness. May improve with age, but don't buy anymore now...AM

Green wood nose, initial nose of leather. Watery finish, sour cherry with pond muck whiffs. Sulphury. Dissapointing but clearly this is due to the weak vintage, way too much green wood on the nose and taste.
