Pours a dark garnet with no browning whatsoever. Dark red fruit and minty nose. Red and black fruit on the palate with some other classic Cab notes of mint, cedar and green pepper. Tannins are resolved but present and the acidity is solid. Remarkable condition for $30 wine at age 15. Last bottle, but if I had more I would be in no rush to finish them off.

2nd Bottle was much like the 1st with much of its luster already having mellowed. I did find a much more concentrated amount of Cherry and mint on the finish in bottle two a little better than 1st but should have drank both of these prior to this.

Wow I really expected more from this as it was cellared for many years as the "EXPERTS" recommended but in the end I should drink the other bottle now also. A bit on the thin side for a Cabernet of this magnitude. Fruit is starting to disappear and a round balanced finish does not really show off what this wine once was. Nothing really special at this point I think I waited too long.

Expressed minerality of stones and charcoal blended with black fruit, baking spices and cardamom seed are suggestive of the subtle aromas. Depth of flavor in the form of black cherry, plums, cocoa bark, spice and wet rock. This is a masculine wine, with a firm grip and ample chewy texture, yet it is also elegant and effortlessly silky.

This has a nice nose of red/black fruit components w/a hint of toffee segueing into mid palate of the same. In contrast to an '02 Rob't Mondavi Cabernet Napa that has a darker cassis profile. Equally satisfiying but different w/the Washington wine offering up a crunchier red raspberry profile. They're both good and satisfying.

Needed some time to open it, but hours later it did nicely.

This is exceptional Can Franc. The burnt leather explodes on the midpalate and the finish is pure earth. Yummmm

Interesting nose that just explodes with cassis, blackberry, and some winter spice. Very elegant dark cherry mixed with dried cranberry is woven seemlessly throughout the wine with tertiary flavors of cedar, blueberry, hazelnut and some forest brambles. It took a while for this wine to get onto its feet, but once it did it took on the characteristic charm I've found in most of Cougar Crest's wines. Would pair very nicely with heavy meat or pasta dishes - it went …

Definitly cassis on the nose, but needs more time in cellar. Small, round tannins.

Nose is creme de cassis, blackberry, vanilla. The palate has noticeable tannins along with black fruits including currant, blackberry and a touch of oak. 2nd night -- Nose is more green bell pepper, vitamins and dust. The palate is lot more green tasting with a little black fruit. Not as lush tonight.

Cross-posted from 2 Days per Bottle : Sorry folks, no picture. I actually drank this on April 24, and the Wooden Guys consider Arbor Day a national holiday. They drank the wine, sure, but refused to write a review. They said it was their day off. Night One This has an interesting nose, a really strong French Syrah funk. After a few minutes the funk settles down a little bit, enough to get to the other aromas. It is very …

lovely nose, with natural seeming cedary and herbal with green elements. also some coffee/cocoa type of scents that smack of yeasts to me. but a nice nose nonetheless. the palate is quite pretty with cassis and herbal flavors, and is rather graceful and light. the midpalate, in fact, is too light - there is no density to the fruit. but the overall effect is nice. not sure what this would retail for, but if it's in the teens, it's a …
