Dunites Wine Company Chardonnay Windward San Luis Obispo Coast

Tart yet ripe apples, white peaches, chamomile, hazelnuts, a touch of honey. Beautiful minerality, good acid, and a nice creamy mouthfeel. Delicious wine and an excellent qpr for California chardonnay! Would be curious to see what this would be like in ~2030

Pretty funky, possibly off? Nose has notes of canned vegetables, green and savory notes, orange juice, honey. Palate has more oranges and honey, ginger spice, rock candy. Pretty weird for Chardonnay. I don’t hate it but I am not sure I love it either.

Thanksgiving dinner. A bit bland. Prefer Chablis.

I bought a few of these and wanted to try one. Very primary on open and much the same on night two. By night three, it was in better form but still leading with acidity and very bright fruit. Flavor and balance were good, but this is too young. Wait a year to open another.
