Nydelig. 94p+

Double decanted and then slo oxed for 4 hours. On the nose black and blue fruits with wet earth. Palate full bodied and layered. Tannins are fine. Long finish. Will be very long lived wine.

Dekantert lenge. 2 små glass dag 1. Pen allerede. Men balansen er mer på plass, frukten er herligere, så også summen av det hele, sel om den nok er ung.

Lunch 2025.6 (Bistro Rex) : A deep and densely hued ruby colour. Aromas of blackcurrant, mulberries, tobacco leaf and a whiff of graphite. Full bodied, balanced and with great intensity it washes the palate with spicy dark fruits, mint, tobacco and fresh dug earth flavours. The finish is long, rich and firm with the graphite showing again within the generous tannins. Ripe, contemporary yet retaining its underlying Graves personality 19.

dark ruby colored with a tawn on vigorous swirl and a bit of tawn on edge but very subtle. Nose was subdued compared to margaux wines. when you can whip the nose up you get a dark fruit, pipe tobacco, hints of ester that give that wondrous bordeaux insight; I get a touch of vinyl (band aid) type smell which I love. The initial taste is underwhelming, better at 2 hours decant. Overall the taste remained dominated by alcohol over …

Last time I tried this wine, it was 2020. Five years later, this wine is still rockin well with great purity of fruit and a nice finish. Well balanced. Decanted for 3 hours. I would say it is drinking at is peak but still has life left: perhaps another 3 to 5 years but I prefer my Bordeaux without tertiary notes in general. I was a fan of the wine in 2020 and still a fan in 2025! The 2009 …

This wine benefited from a couple of hours in the decanter and delivered aromatics of red fruit, cassis, earth, cow hide, smoke and a whiff of alcohol in the background. Medium-weight with a bit of astringency leading to a medium length high-toned finish. An excellent counterfoil to some medium-aged hard cheese.

Consistent with most of the notes. Definitely benefits from air (decanted 2 hours). Tar, leather, thyme, some tobacco notes. Well balanced tannins.

The wine only slightly rolls up its curtain after 2-3 hours in decanter, and closed down again 2 hours later. Consistent with most of the 2009 I have tasted in recent 2 years: they are not ready, or just not as good as I expected. Deep ruby. Cherry, plum, preserved hawthorn, graphite, komatsuna, and cooked celery. Medium bodied, grippy tannin, with some bitterness and spiciness in the back. Finish is long but simple. Too woody for me.

while not special, this bottle showed better than previous ones with tamer, smoother tannins, a nose that reveals itself with some coaxing, and muted fruit with minerality. 89-ish pts

An hour decant and this showed aromatics of red and dark fruit, smoke, earth and spice. Medium-weight palate with secondary fruit and some astringency on a medium-length finish. A very enjoyable wine that would seem to have another 5 or so good years of drinking ahead.

Opened for 6h slow oxidation as suggested by earlier post. Beautiful nose shut down almost immediately thereafter, spices, pepper. Red fruit and tannins are maybe 3/4 integrated, I reckon this is peaking if not plateauing. 6h later and it was still closed. Oh well... I will decant the other bottle... lesson learnt

Double decanted for 2 hours before drinking, and it probably could have used another 1-2 more. Wine has beautiful dark garnet color, nice classic old world bordeaux bouquet that improved with tome in the glass. The wine has tasty dark and red fruit, the tannins are still there but quite smooth. Finish is long and tasty. Not a huge wine, but very good and will improve with another 3-5+ years.

This was great but either it needs longer than 2 hours in a decanter to hit the same highs I’ve had with it before or 09 isn’t shaping up like I thought it might. Bottles all cellared properly. Hold the next 5. Had an 09 la parde alongside it which wasn’t as objectively good but shared similarities and was very likeable. Hold the last 1.

another lackluster showing for this wine. This bottle was a bit better after about 4 hours in the decanter. Not much nose, modest fruit, drying tannins on the finish. FWIW, this was purchased on futures from a reputable retailer, and properly cellared.

No points; there was, for me, something odd in the bouquet and the taste of this wine. The wine had a deep colour, dark fruit, a good midtaste, good bitters and firm tannins, but again that 'odd' element, that gave a sharper impression.

Haven't had a bottle in 5+ years. Kind enough for Agelvis, my host to open one tonight for our event at his place. 3 hour decant was nice but didn't do it full service. Yes, the barnyard was completely gone but the wine itself needed every bit of 6-7 hours to really strut its stuff on both nose and palate. Dark garnet in the glass. Nose initially of tilled black soil and not much else. Palate initially of graphite and …

Three hour decant. Deep dark gritty ruby magenta color. Blackberry, earth, cinnamon-infused cherry, molasses, and subtle apple peel. Smooth, dry palate. Quite firm tannins on the longish finish. Classic higher end Bordeaux. This kept improving over seven hours. Not necessarily my style, but so well made. This was Mark1NPT’s wine of the night, perhaps tied with a ‘21 Vice Versa LPV. Couldn’t have two more different Cab-based reds. Fun night.

Part of a small BYO 100 Parker point blind tasting. Decanted. Amazing bed of sous-bois with blue berries, red and black berries. Perfect point of extraction. Minor tobacco and leather add-ons. Also sweet spice. The palate fresh, but not fully integrated with slightly mouthcoating tannin. This 2009 is evolving nicely and has further to go.

Similar to my tasting note from 2022. This wine continues to improve with age. It now tastes like how the 2000 vintage tasted at its peak. While still early maturity with loads of fruit, this is a beautiful Bordeaux through and through.

Bought on release. 6h slow-ox This wine is the poster child for decanting wine. Completely closed upon opening, I was already wondering if I needed to try to sell the rest I own on auction. It took about 2h to open and I served it at 6h. It is old style, even for Graves. Masculine, leather, earth with a little sweet fruit in the early finish, which is moderate in length. More fruit with longer decants...a few others have mentioned …

Recently found a forgotten bottle of this stuff in my cellar. Beautifull mature wine.
