Library release purchase. Overall, quite a lot of stemmy green on nose and palate, some might consider it aggressively so. Elegant in profile, with moderate acid, rich red fruit (for Oregon) without a hint of sweetness, a bit of clove spice, and a clean finish. Very glad that Patty Green made these available!

This is one of those memorable wines that forces you to think. It’s layered, delicious and leaves you contemplating what exactly it is that you’re tasting. The nose is delicate yet complex with camp fire smoke, cranberry, and dried flowers. The palette is reminiscent of a cranberry cocktail, but not overly sweet, it strikes the perfect balance between sweet and tart with an earthy smokiness that follows. There’s a long finish with green “stemmy”, for lack of a better term, …

Best after an hour or so. Consider decanting for best results.

55F. decanted (minimal sediment) medium red with some brick nose muted for Pinot noir with some cherry, plum, pepper. Good acid, weak mid platel and ok finish On palate cherry, earth, green with definate bitterness/stems came together with improvement after 1 or 2 hour decant, more integrated mid-palate

Fine cherry and mild cola flavors. Still showing a little bitterness on the finish, presumably form stem inclusion. Has a very nice floral nose, however. Showing well, but still a few years from peak.

This light-to-medium red/garnet Pinot is an attractive "happy medium" between old and new-world. Bing cherries and red currants are flanked by coriander, cola and smokey aromas. The ripe fruit is supported by excellent acidity, medium sweet tannins and tightly integrated alcohol (listed as 13.0%). Raspberry, cocoa and allspice flavors hold nicely through a solid middle palate and lengthy finish. Patricia Green produces from multiple vineyard sources. Most are "hits" while a small percentage are "duds." This is an overwhelming "hit" …

Popped an hour before serving. Pretty nose of red fruits, followed by smooth, medium bodied mouthfeel. A bit of raciness to the longish finish. Not a lot of complexity, but a lively Pinot with excellent QPR. Other tasters had noted a bit of stem presence, but that was fully integrated in this bottle.

Smooth, nice mouthfeel, nice cool blue fruits. Very stemmy though, with very apparent bitter notes that are unpleasant. If they integrate over time this will end up good, but for now not for me.

Light color. Smells of bright red fruit floral and a hint of bramble. Good acid on tasting but herbal tones and no depth. No mid palate. Only ok even considering the price point

A very nice medium-bodied effort with bright red fruits and juicy acidity. Very lively and intensely quaff-able. Great now, but likely even better in a year or two.

Pop and pour and followed over a couple hours in the glass. Definite stemy herbal quality on the back cherry nose. Palate is bright, finely focused, with a slightly bitter herbal note come out before some coarse tannins. Earth, stone, and tannins on the finish. Good, but hasn't integrated the whole cluster component. Needs time but should improve as it has great structure and elegance.

This light red/garnet wine shows a very nice, intense nose of rose petals, cherries, pickling spice and earth. Fresh and light-to-medium-bodied on the palate, with very light, soft tannins. The alcohol (listed as 13.0%) is well-integrated and the flavors run tandem to the nose. The middle thins a bit, precluding this wine from meriting a 90+ score. The resurrected finish is crisp and smooth. This is a well-made but somewhat thin Pinot which may have been over-cropped. That said, it …

Seriously aromatic, but it hasn't come together yet. Transparent ruby red color; incredible nose, with bourbon barrel, spice and incense, roses, and reddish berries and cherries; tart at first, but this came into a little better balance after some time; smoky flavors of cherries, berries and pomegranates, and an interesting medicinal thymol/eucalyptus undercurrent; dry, very bitter tannins that overwhelmed the smoke and fruit on the finish. The bitterness abated a bit after some days in the fridge, but I would …

Pop and pour, cellar temp. Very pretty, floral nose. Good acidity on entry, dark cherry, and acidity carrying the finish. After being open for 30 min, there's more earth and funk on the nose, and I pick up some more red fruit on the palate. Not a lot of complexity, but very pretty, and well done for what it is.

Initially, very floral on the nose with violets, raspberry, and cherry. Red fruited, mineral, light-bodied palate with floral spices. Bright acidity and fine tannins. With a couple of hours of air, developed more black cherry and earthy notes and a softer, fleshier, more full-bodied character. Liked this best after about 30 minutes open. Drink in the short term, with or without food. A nice value.

Showing very earthy with some brief bitter herbal notes on the palate, while in general the herbal and earth notes dominate. There is a wine here for sure, it has balance, but from a taste standpoint this is undrinkable for me. Could show better with time.

Memorial Day Weekend & Eyrie South Block Reserve Pinots (Willamette Valley, Oregon) : More sulfur on the nose, but not as intense as the other '10s. Soft fruit, with mild funk. Light body, but nicer texture here, and pretty good fruit flavors. Tarter finish with funky finish.
