Drank at a restaurant, and was decanted for around an hour. As basically every other review states, it goes down so smooth. My wife does not like some highly rated Napa cab's as she says they are too strong. But she likes Winter.

3 hour decant. This was really nice with leather, black pepper and dark fruits. No bell pepper! Good mouthfeel and long finish. Last vintage of this wine due to the owners death. I've had his 08 09 and 11 and they have all been very good. 94+

Still going strong. The 15.3%abv is just about fully integrated. A touch left but another year or so should resolve it. Decant for 3 hours. And enjoy! Multi layer black cherry, forest floor, cedar. 1 more bottle left!

For three out of 4 this was the wotn. Full bodied, deep purple, nose of cassis and dark fruit. Nice mouthfeel and good finish. Too bad this winery went out of business with the passing of its founder. My 3rd bottle of winter cab and all of them quite good. Even coming from a difficult year like 2011 they produced a very good wine.

I’m a bit perplexed about folks consuming this at 5 years and writing mediocre reviews. First, this wine, like most good Napa and French Bordeaux, aren’t meant to be consumed at 5 years. 8-10 years of aging is the heuristic to use. Then decant! At least 3 hours. I found this wine still very youthful but extremely smooth considering the 15% abv. Lots of black cherry. Forest floor. Very nice. Glad I have 2 more to age.

Fantastic nose on sweet cherry or raspberry. Ok mouthfeel, ok finish, fairly complex. Good wine worth the price.

A terrific wine and not just for the vintage. Ready to go and now has a long finish that has a taste of mature Bordeaux.

This was the wotn for almost everyone at the party. Great nose, long finish and very nice complexity. Was a little worried since there has been so much negativity with the 2011 napa vintage but this was great. Glad I have a few more bottles. Aging very well and just starting to hit its stride.

While drinking this I pondered what it would be like to do a "dreaded 2011" blind tasting. No herbal notes this time (they were present last time), and overall a very good but not particularly complex cabernet.

Good again. Drank well right out of the bottle this time. Rich wine but a bit simplistic on this night against many more complex competitors.

Give it an hour decant to blow off some initial green notes and it blossoms into a rich, velvety cab. Dark chocolate and tobacco on a plus finish. Good over three days. Lots of life left.

Nose is a little tight - some fruit, spearmint and spice. Nice silky fruit upfront - cassis, plum, black cherry. Nice structure and acidity. Some mocha notes on the finish. Sophisticated.

Drank well tonight. dark dark dark in the glass, big bold fruit, lesser tannin than in previous bottles. I think I drank these too soon, but will never know because they're gone now....

Wow, this cab is truly evolving for the better. I was able to acquire a few bottles of this final vintage and now I am down to my last 4 bottles. I can honestly say that better things lye ahead for this wine. A solid 91 points! Let it breath, and enjoy because there will be no more.

Giving it some time to get some air it is definitely a good a wine. Nice fruit, berries, cassis, smooth elegance. It's really amazing to see what a metamorphosis this 2011 has experienced, and is a good. It's apparent that with cellaring this one will get better. I would prefer the 2010 vintage over this one, but the 2011 Winter Cabernet Sauvignon is a good one... It's too bad this is the last.

Very tight and somewhat tannic. Not as full bodied and ripe as the 2010 vintage which was excellent. This wine will require cellaring time; however, if you drink it now, decanting is a must. I must say that it was much better after it got a chance to breath. I will reserve a score on this wine for now as I have a few more to in the cellar.
