Low expectations. So suprised by this. Subtle red fruit. Good acidity for backbone. Medium body. Good everyday red.

I really enjoyed this! Doesn't have that "Bordeaux character" in abundance, but has a nice cherry core that comes through. Tasting great now, has a bit of aged component. Would be great as a house wine.

At first, spices and mint, fresh wine, later, red fruit, with med-body, no acidity, leaning on the sweet with soft tannins

Solid left bank Bordeaux, solid, not amazing but very good for the price.

Good structure that probably would do well with 3-5 more years in the bottle due to moderate plus acid and moderate plus dry tannin. Nice ruby color. N: aromatic, with black cherry, smashed strawberry, plumb, cigarette, chocolate and leaf cover aromas P: strawberry, plumb, raspberry and currant. Espresso bean and granite

94% Merlot, 3% CS, 2% PV, 1% CF Ripe black cherries, ripe raspberries, tobacco, cocoa powder, methol and the slightest hint of funk/brett/horse blanket on the nose which does not detract from this at all. The palate adds orange peel and is 50/50 between the fruits and the secondary stuff. Finish is driven by stone/slate and a touch of dried green herbs; which gives the non-fruit flavors the dominant edge when all is said and done. Texturally powdery. Medium body …

Fresh, forward, soft, early-drinking, red berry, spice and cocoa filled charmer that will be perfect to enjoy on release. Drink from 2022-2028.

*2009 vintage* Extraordinary bottle. Even though this is the le boscq "2nd wine" there is no difference in blend, treatment, or aging (the heritage uses younger vines). Excellent representation if terroir. Earthy, spicy, complex with fruit definitely taking a back seat. Many years of life to go! 2016 is certainly not the end of the drinking window.

Tart berry nose with liquorice, toast, florals and herbs. Medium bodied palate with tart berry fruit and dusty tannins. Pencil shavings, slight liquorice and a touch of mocha towards the brief finish. Pretty mediocre stuff.

Medium garnet colour. Some blackcurrant and hints of pencil lead and earth on the nose.Decanted one hour.Initially slightly acidic with medium currant on the palate.Settled nicely down after decanting, showing softened medium black fruit with hints of earth and liquorice.Still slightly austere but it is probably due to the young age.
