Aged remarkably well. Harmonious, savoury, earthy, tea, delicious.

First Opened ... There's a nice dark fruit and spice on the nose with a palate that delivers black raspberry, cassis and blackberry along with smoke and spice. An Hour Open ... Develops mocha and coffee along with black cherry and subtle burnt toast notes. Two Hours Plus Open ... Here we are at the telltale two-hour mark and there's tobacco and raspberry; and within three hours there's a silkiness among all those layers of flavour. Really nice job here …

Decanted for 2 hours. Nice Bordeaux blend, good balance, much better than I expected.

From a magnum. Nose is nice, showing some green elements at first but later a typical cabernet nose of blackcurrant. Some intensity on the palate, at first the acid and tannin stood out. After several hours of breathing the palate seemed more integrated. Finish is fairly long. I believe this wine is just entering maturity. It’s a good wine, but I would like it to be more distinctive. But overall I’m impressed.

Vinturi aerated and decanted for 2 hours. Deep garnet. Black berry and sour cherry nose with some vegetal notes. Slightly dry on the palate with muted fruit notes. Underwhelming for a good vintage. Poor QPR

Drinking wonderfully right now. Full-bodied, with smooth tannins. Paired well with a rare steak. I’m sad that it was my last bottle.

Not a bad red, but I really expected more from Trius and the 2012 vintage. Light, soft, a little red fruit and vanilla, not much else.

It's a Bay Street Red. Pretends it's from California, and can almost keep up the pretense. But after an hour falls apart.

I had hopes that the 2012 blockbuster vintage will see a return to the quality that we came to associate to this established Ontario wine. But I have to say I am disappointed yet again. While it's still a good red, it seems unexplainably light. The 2012 summer was as good as they come in a century to produce good concentration wines, so what gives? Sure, it's still a baby, it will get better with age, perhaps 1-2 years at …
