Beautiful color with nice patina. 30 minute decant, warm on the palette with a lingering finish. Nice balance between the fruit and tannins, velvety smooth. So happy that we have 3 more bottles.

A truly magical wine in a great place right now. Opened for 3 hours and then decanted for another 2. A bit more would have been better as it continued to open up in the glass.

This is getting better and better, as the once underrated vintage comes into its own with age. More bordeaux in style than napa, but i’d say the best of both worlds. Perfect now and for the next 10 years.

Well, at least it goes out with style. Much better than my notes from a little over a year ago. But not worthy of cult status or cost. Still drinking well, but on the long decline.

This earthy and elegant Pritchard Hill Cabernet is still going strong, with a density and lift that speak to the magic of more than two decades in the bottle. Garnet in color; medium in body; aromas of dried blueberry, tobacco, dried roses, and baking spices. Mature flavors of sour cherry, rhubarb, and cardamon, with an integrated and delicate finish that has plenty of lift. 13.9% alcohol. Drink in next 3-5 years, but no rush: this wine has hit an impressive, …

45th Bday 1934-1999. When Diamond Creek is weakest of the night (Zoom) : Very good. A different league than the volcanic - perfumed red fruits - I would have not guessed 98. Very dark mountain fruit, perfumed fruit. Incredibly long finish. This showed very well. Those who dismissed the 98s should be vanished to an island where all they drink are 97s.

tomato stems, dusty blackberries, mushrooms, truffle, cedar, earth spice, dried red florals and bruised cherry seems like provenance or storage is key to the reviews here. unfortunately the bottle that was shared with me felt old and tired. very herbaceous, but just a touch of elegance at the end.

Huge dissapointment, especially re-reading my notes from 2017 (94 points). Obviously this is well in decline and not anything close to its price. Seemed acidic and lacking fruit and depth. Still perfectly good, but only at $30/btl.

Perfectly stored bottle. What an amazing wine! Great balance, amazing young flavors, still quite a bit of fruit left, dark cherries. Great stuff!

lovely wine - rounded, balanced, some complexity - very enjoyable. Was among the best among a tasting of high end Napa wine from the 90's.

Very similar notes to last tasting in July of 2018. Very pleasant, but would not wait to drink if you have more bottles in your cellar... and yes, an excellent complement to burgers off the grill! Yum!

I agree with previous later comments; this wine is a beautiful wine now, with a style more Bordeauxish that California. Complimented our food really well. Not a lot of tannin left, but the wine is holding together very well. I would not say it is declining; more in a second stage of life. Really enjoyed.

Though missing some of the complexity and power of better vintages, this is nonetheless a very good bordeaux like, elegant wine, and also a very nice food match. Blackberries, currants, licorice, leather, earthiness, and hints of chocolate and tobacco. Full bodied wine with a long finish.

If it weren't so darn expensive I'd drink a lot of this. Just really well balanced across every facet of wine. Good flavor, balance, aroma and finish. Consistent with my notes from a couple years ago, nothing jumps out as excelling, just solid across the board. For $100 this would be the wine of the year. And btw, not over the hill if properly stored.

Past its peak but aging gracefully. Vegetal with some leathery red fruit, sweet black fruit, spice, cedar and a slight taint from the cork. Continued to improve in the decanter over 1 hour or so as the vegetal cork quality began to blow off. Still some tannins on the finish.

Strong berry and cherry nose. Integrated tannins and body. Tannins (7.5/10) Body is still a nice medium meaty weight 5/10. Acidity in the mid finish and a medium finish overall. Some backbone in the finish. In a Napa way this is now elegant rather than bold in your face. Elegant with body. I am not sure how long I would let this lie down for too many more years (given my preference not to lose too many tannins and a …

Nose had dark fruit, vanilla, velvet and pretty oak. The palate had length and depth with mature and balanced purple and black fruit. The wine had a very nice balanced of strength and finesse for a big full bodied napa. Its drinking so well now. 92+

Pretty good for a bad vintage, but comes across as solid across the board while not really excelling in anything. Good nose, big body, nice flavor, just needed more of everything as a cult cal, but again, can't complain for the bad vintage (other than the price).

Really a beautiful, elegant wine. Stored in cellar since purchase. Still has time left, but didn't really change over the 2 hours or so we drank it over. More Bordeaux like than I would have anticipated.

Bryant Family makes great Cabernets, and the 1998 has been a very good wine, but this bottle is over the hill, and the last of this vintage in my cellar. It did not have the pure cassis and silkiness that I so much value. It was rather neutral and had lost its charm.

Deep dark, sweet blue and red fruits on the nose and the mouth. Not a giant massive wine but also not a shrinking violet. Was a treat
