Made with Roter Gutedel aka. Chasselas Rouge, the red-skinned mutation of Chasselas, yet vinified into a white wine - i.e. a blanc de noirs. According to the back label, the wine is actually a Kabinett and the grapes are sourced from Ballrechten-Dottinger Castellberg. 11,5% alcohol. Tasted blind. Rather pale and neutral color with a limpid, pinkish-white hue. Youthful and primary nose with straightforward aromas of fresh apples, some gooseberry and a little bit of leesy yeast.
