Fruchtig malzig. Im Abgang ziemlich alkoholisch.

Decanter Spirit Christmas Tasting (Gallery, Leamington Spa) : Rancio, dark hued fruits in the plums space, touch of raisins, fig. Juicy, fleshy off dry, slight leathery, muted flavours on the palate. Simple <shrugs>

Deep amber. Aromas of dried cherry, prunes, figs, raisins, spices, caramel, vanilla, leather. High acidity, sweet.

Slow trails, amber-brown color. Smells of raisins, alcohol, and faintly of dark chocolate. Tastes very sweet, very interesting. There is an near immediate explosion of flavors ranging from expected raisin, caramel, and dried fruits, all the way over to floral, blackberry, and very mild, very toffee like, cinnamon. It transforms throughout the entire experience and finishes very dry.

From a 375ml bottle. On the nose orange peel, toffee and ripe dark fruit. Full bodied, sweet and smooth, showing ripe dark fruit, orange peel and slight toffee notes with s bit of heat on the finish. A solid Tawny.

Perfectly fine in this category. Not a big fan of its hint of caramel and cloying nature as the acid is not sufficient to lift the profile.

More reddish-brown in color than a classic tawny, the nose also has more fruit notes of plums, marmelade, fruitsyrup and a slightly dominant alcohol. In the mouth it's the dark fruit that dominates with plums, dates, blackberry syrup. Followed by walnuts, pecans and milk chocolate. Medium-bodied, not the longest aftertaste, but finishes pleasantly. Significantly better 10 year old out there. (Edit if you prefer are more fruity still tawny you maybe rate it a point or two higher)

First tawny in many years, so I am struck by the relatively light, restrained sweetness and softened acidity/fire Nice balance

Enjoyable port for a good price. Echo other reviews of fig, coffee, maple, caramel, raisin, prune, marzipan/almond Could see myself drinking some of this after dinner often.

Maple, clove honey, sweet baking spice, chocolate, caramel, raisin, coffee, fruit leather, dried fig, date, tobacco, smoke, prune, orange marmalade, potpourri, menthol, and black fruit. Beautiful ombre from pale/medium garnet (almost ruby) to a light orange at the rim. High alcohol. Sweet. M acid. M-/M tannins are round and smooth. Pronounced intensity. Pronounced complexity. Long finish. Outstanding.

A good example of a go-to inexpensive 10 year Tawny Port.

This appears to still show a deep ruby core with some tawny color toward the edge. Aromas and flavors tend toward fig, prune and sweet cherry. Medium acidity and medium finish. Alright, but nothing spectacular. Enjoyed with blueberry cheesecake accented with chopped nuts.

Last bottle out of 6. No decanting The nose: Prune, figs, raisin, Marcipan, nuts. Toasted coffee The palate: Marcipan/nut pie with chocolate topping. Raisin, figs and prune. Brown sugar, Honey, toasted coffee. A little sidenote of banana. Lighter in style then the last review. A very good "go to" port that is at A fair price and a disent quality. Still 94

Caramel apple on the nose. Not too sweet for a port. Long on the finish, with an enjoyable freshness on the end. Very good for a 10 year old tawney. First time I buy port from this house. Plus 375ml bottle is nice to have. Some might think pricey, but it is very good. I will definitely go back and buy more bottles.

Purchased for $29. Bottled in 2022. Tasted for #tawnytuesday on 12/20 with Port Drinker. Dark amber in color with ruby highlights throughout. Initial nose of caramel and figs. Seemed a bit one dimensional. On the palate, this is a sweeter tawny. Fig, caramel and pipe tobacco. This is juicy, but not lively. George said it best: this is all easy-drinking Tawny. Balanced with no discernable heat. Agree with easy-drinking. Nothing that particularly stands out. Just an enjoyable Tawny that goes …

Opening a bottle of Port set the end of the traditional Portuguese wine season and the beginning of Christmas time, when happiness favors the indulgence coming in the form of uncorking good selected bottles, directly from my cellar. Bottled in 2016 and purchased in Lisbon in 2017. Traditional old shaped. Really a beautiful and bright tawny colour. On the nose aromas of caramel and nuts. Certainly also sweet medicinal herbs. On the palate highlights its soft texture, integration of alcohol, …

Strawberry jam, very sweet, cinnamon and toffee. Touch of earthy oloroso type notes. Quite simple fruity tawny. Very nice without being first rate.

Singapore Airlines Business Class (Singapore Airlines) : Standard Tawny joy - dried fruits, figs, walnuts on both palate and nose. Non-intrusive alcohol warmth, good acid/sweetness balance means this shies away from cloying thought it is quite simple. Okay.
