Light and transparent red color. Aromas of strawberries, smoke and volcanic minerals. After a while also some barnyard/horse stable aromas. Light and transparent also on the palate, still with good fruit.

Amazing wine, the nose so enticing it’s hard to stop smelling it. Lots of red fruit, Pinot-like, funkiness, mushroom, leather. Less satisfying on the palate, but still.

An Etna red while “PA” stands for Contrada Feudo di Mezzo Porcaria. Pale garnet in colour with a lean appearance. la décantatiom to remove unpleasant reduction nose - common for natural wine. Then aromas of fresh red fruit on the nose, though still disturbed by sulfur - strange for natural wine. In the mouth, elegant, smooth but lacking in structure and contents. Challenging but well done for tough 2018 viantage.

Opened in the bottle for a few hours. Tannins and acid persist but like the best Cornelissen wines ripeness and earth perceivers. Needs time but really good after an hours air.

I was surprised how clean and precise this wine was. Tough year but great extraction and purity. Cherry (ripe), dried herbs and ashy earth. More crowd pleasing than the majority of Sicilian Red.
