45mm natural cork enclosure. Medium ruby/purple in colour which is unusual for a 3yo. Fresh red cherry with underlying dark cherry, vanilla, raspberry and even mint. Black pepper, spice. Med(+) intensity. The nose show no signs of ageing after 24 hours either. On the palate… med(+) body, dry (obvs), med acidity but pronounced. Well balanced with a long finish driven by fruit.

Quite full-bodied, hot and spicy with raspberry and cherry jam. It lacks the clarity, elegance and focus one associates with this appellation. Where is the clarity and uplift? It was a hot vintage and it shows. A bit of a brute and atypical. 84points
