sunday night wine,with sausage. great wine and ageing has helped it. medium body, good nose, fruit and smokey length. solid wine for a simple meal.

Light-to-medium, red fruits with sour cherry pronounced, Asian spices (cardamon?!). Almost feels like it could be a summer drink. Stoppered and refrigerated, finished over 7 days and it gently descended without ever falling off.

Red fruit, garrigue, leather and tar. A great pairing with our Mamoun's Mid-Eastern food (falafel, chicken kebabs, shawarma, hummus, baba, garlic sauce and tahini).

Absolutely stunning Grenache!! Probably one of the best I've ever had. Aromas of fresh strawberries, cranberry, cola, baking spice, and vanilla on the nose. Tastes of cherry, cranberry, and baking spice on the palate. Medium bodied with slightly grippy tannins giving it nice texture on the mouth. Long finish with rose petal and potpourri.

Gramercy Cellars Grenache Comparison; 12/9/2020-12/11/2020 (Seattle, Washington) : Pale ruby – strawberry, milk chocolate, red cherry candy, light funk, black cherry, palate adds watermelon candy; additional notes as the wine was open – powder, vanilla, red raspberry, cranberry, cinnamon, ginger, baking spices. Medium acid, medium tannins, 14.0% ABV, medium- body, medium- intensity, medium- finish. Very delicate yet complex. 75% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre.

This is just beautiful. It’s billed as Grenache, but is a blend, GSM. Despite being 15% Syrah, it really shows in this wine, but the blend mutes the gamey character that is common, and puts it in beautiful balance.

Plum and cherry, this was a pleasant surprise from a relatively weak Washington vintage. GSM.

The nose is very promising, sweet black cherry, lavender and mixed roasted olives with beef jerky, rye bread and chalky railroad gravel. In the mouth it's a little plodding, rich blue and black fruit, fresh cut ceder, sweet spice, herb de Provence and kirsch. Soft powdery tannin and acid make this a little weighty and maybe tired? Good, but ultimately not for the price. I think I would have liked this more when it was younger.

Tasted blind (but not blind to the wines I own); guessed Gramercy Cellars syrah. This is a great wine that is better than the sum of its parts. This tastes better than any Cotes du Rhone I can remember tasting. Syrah blackberry and pepper is perfectly matched with grenache sweet strawberry. Juicy and fluid and easy to drink (which is why I thought of Gramercy). Drink now.

Fresh and enjoyable now. I really enjoyed the results of this 55-40-5 G-S-M blend. The % breakdown can swing from year to year particularly for the Syrah and Mourvedre components, and it seems like Gramercy nailed it this year. In particular, I really enjoyed observing the Grenache and Syrah portions and how each contributed their respective strengths into something both delicious and interesting. 14.1% alcohol, which I thankfully didn't notice at all on the palate. Easy to like, a casual friend. You can pop and pour, although I find it tastes better after sitting out a little while and served just below room temperature. Doesn’t get a higher rating due to being a bit simple.

Really good for an '11. Drank side-by-side with a '10 and there wasn't much difference, although the '10 was better. Good fruit profile in both; more depth and better finish in the '10.

A very enjoyable GSM blend; The Third Man is fine and balanced, showing polished structure, beautiful combination of dark fruit aromas with red fruit cleansing the pallet, and a finish that last. Drinking very well now, but will clearly support many years to come.

Not with a meal but over 3 nights. Obviously this was best on night 2. It just needs air and one can wait to drink this. However this is great fruit, balance and finish. Yummy grenache dominated wine but the syrah is making this so nice and round. Very good.

Dead, Dante's, Wine (Chicago, IL) : I'm an idiot. Despite having wrote a note about this half a year ago, reminding me to age this, I accidentally pulled it and opened it. Oh well.
