Well made for the level and drinking pretty. A little one dimensional.

Expressive wine, showing ripe dark cherry wrapped in silky tannins and vibrant acidity. A faint, unobtrusive barnyard/earthy note adds classic Burgundian character without overshadowing the fruit, leading to a well-balanced finish.

Red and black cherry dominate here, with a primary flavor delivery and a medium-bodied weight distribution across the palate. Somewhat linear, with a thinner but focused finish. Impressively pure and clean overall. Needs a decent amount of time in bottle to gain some heft and hopefully find some additional complexity. Hold for 4-5 years. 90-92 points. A 2016 Murgers from Hudelot-Noellat held more interest for me in comparison to this Petits Vougeots.

Perfectly ripe cherry and berry fruits are trimmed with a little earth. It is full and generous in the mouth with a nice stony base. Balance is excellent and the finish has some refreshing, slightly tart fruits and loads of mineral.

Opened way too young! Good, but needs time.

Meaty with more black fruit. Good density for its level. Can imagine the clos vougeot is even better.

Wednesday Cellar Visits in Burgundy - Paul Pernot, Grivot and Hudelot-Noellat (Cote d'Or) : Barrel tasting at the domaine. 20% whole cluster for the entire lineup in 2015. Surprisingly this is showing more black and meaty fruit than I expected, but nicely harmonious. Clearly ripe and somewhat meaty with good concentration. Subtle spice. VG for its level.
