Abacela, Estate Barrel Select Tempranillo, Umpqua Valley

This was excellent, if not a touch too oaky. Deep and complex and a nice interesting Oregon treat.

Vanilla, cocoa, more vanilla. The fruit, while present, is overpowered somewhat. Time in the decanter seemed to have little opening effect and further complexity didn't emerge.

Drank with Lori and Robyn. We all loved it. Smooth, but spicy with subtle tannins.

Sarsparilla, cedar, and rich dark fruit aromas. Big, rich, coating mouthfeel. Big chewy tannins. Earth, spice, and balanced acidity. Long finish. Very good.

American Tempranillo : Dark ruby color. Smooth and enticing on the nose, with juicy blackberries and black cherries, notes of sweet coffee, rich soil, eucalyptus and tobacco. Full-bodied with a chewy presence, velvety tannins and medium-low acid. The black cherries, blueberries and black currant fruit is really rich and jammy, but it tastes pure, not candied.
