Lol.....end of night palate cleanser from Agelvis. Orange/caramel color in the glass. The best nose of vanilla and caramel, EVER. Palate was the same, however I made the mistake of swishing it in the mouth like it was a wine (because that's what we've been drinking heavily the last 3 nights!) and OMG......thought I would need a fire extinguisher to ease the burn! Lol....I know better now......95 for the nose. 90 for the palate so I'll average it out to …

Bottled April 2019. On the nose orange peel, dried apricot, vanilla and caramel. On the palate vigorous and very long with a slightly smoky aftertaste. Not a charmer, full of character with heat and intensity (49% vol.) but with enough substance to be still in balance. Great Armagnac.

A private lunch (Restaurant Champeaux by Alain Ducasse, Paris, France) : At a lovely point in its evolution; it retains the fiery power and fruit (plums, tropical fruit) of youth and balances it with the gentle warmth and more mature flavours from the wood (vanilla, nuts), and has the wonderful floral elegance of the folle blanche, energetic and juicy, not without back-end heat, but certainly long. A pure style, strong (49% ABV) but not rustic.
