Surprisingly young still and felt like this needs another 5 years to develop something secondary. classic at this stage dark cherry, soft tar and really still very much a brooding wine. 91 for now and really give this time. Old school Barbaresco!

Took at least an hour to open up after decanting. I wouldn't bother touching it until then unless you want to see it develop...slowly. Had with a spaghetti/meatballs dish that was slow cooked for 8 hours. Once it opened up it was near perfect with the tannins and red sauce.

Fremstår mer moden enn alderen skulle tilsi - nesten halvsliten. Ikke veldig imponert over denne flasken.

Piemont Trip; 3/28/2018-4/1/2018 (Barbaresco, Barolo) : Hmmm... deutlich fortgeschrittene Farbe.

First perfumed notes of dark cherry, menthol, licorice, some underwood and also some tar. Falling apart a little bit after a while. The tannin is medium-high but slightly rough, medium acidity and good length. Not sure if the tannin will ever integrate completely, also on the mid-palate it is clipping a little. Maybe not a sound bottle.

(At BBR's Italian Tour 2015) :: A masculine, pronounced nose. Concentrated notes of tar with some leaf and fruit underneath. Quite savoury, a bit one dimensional for now, but has the stuffing to come together into something better formed over time. Palate is lighter than I'd expected, even a touch thin. Tannins are huge; a touch drying. Needs to reconcile.
