Didn’t expect the Olly Leflaive to be as mature/oxidized as it turned out to be; somehow the dark glass bottle masked the colour quite well. Deep golden like a 30yo wine. But I wouldn’t call it poxed per se, considering it is 17 years old now and more importantly it is still aromatically alive. Wines Tasted at the La Paulée Verticals Session (The Maybourne, Beverly Hills) : Full yellow. Honey and oak vanillin. Medium to full bodied. Blurry fruit but excellent acidity and soil, fairly good energy and length. The best of the 3 vintages but hardly exciting.

(CDV) Trop de bois, trop de bois! il est omniprésent, de l'attaque à la finale et gâche un plaisir minéral qui semble pourtant extraordinaire ! la finale saline et ciselée, étirée se débat contre l'élevage : mais qu'est-ce que ce serait beau dénué de cette empreinte indélébile ! Gros terroir donc, mais grosse vinification prétentieuse qui altère la pureté et l'élégance ... Les vins à papa, les vins pour l'export, les vins des 90's qui n'ont pas fait leur mue.

Intense golden. Nose with lemon and lemon tarte. Buttery notes came when temperature increased. Best at 11-12 degrees. Medium body with high acidity, and medium finish. Perfect to scallops with Jerusalem artichoke puré, hazzel nuts and a sauce of Japanese Soy, lemon, lemon cest and browned butter.

Deep, beautiful golden color. Complex, evolved nose with no hint of excessive oxidation. Lots of material in the palate that is balanced with tremendous levels of acidity to give the wine both lift and concentration. Pleasurable and complex with a long finish. Really great!

Nice nose with “dust”, apricot and tropical fruit. On the palate a perfect acidity balance, nice viscosity. Citrus, orange peel, lemongrass in the finish. Very nice wine. Drink well now but could be kept 10+ in the cellar as well. 90P

Pnp, light golden in color, nose has complex white floral aroma mixed with spice. Perfect balance of sweet fruit and acidity here as though this is a grand cru proper with matching level of concentration. Still very fresh on palate, and the complex acidity is contributing to an alluring finish that lingers. Lovely!!

Darkened color. Rich and exotic and very mature but with a good zingy acidity still intact. Very aged flavors of caramel and butterscotch to go along with the deeply concentrated lemon and ripe pineapple fruit. This is still enjoyable but definitely on its way to premox. On a flower day and pop-n-pour. No sign of premox. Pale golden yellow. Fine Puligny bouquet with good mixture of floral, mineral and subtle fruits. Palate is rather tight and lean but there is very fine acidity. More time with oxygen should help. I think it should benefit from further ageing but really worry about the chance of premox.

Darker color than it should be. Very full and rich on the palate with mature flavors of lemon chiffon, caramel and butterscotch and just enough acidity to make it work. This is very concentrated and really delicious now but each successive bottle I've opened in the past year has shown further maturity so while not pre-moxed yet, this wine is very ready and should be drunk soon.

Yellow-gold color. Beautiful nose of sweet lemons, pineapples and smoky minerals. Quite viscous with good steely intensity and delicious flavors of tropical fruits and lemon/lime. This builds to a lovely complex and concentrated finish with notes of gunflint and minerals. Quite dense and saturated with real extract and grip on the finish. Delicious and ready after an hour open but given the dark color and forward, sweet nature of the fruit, I would drink this sooner rather than later.

Fairly deep yellow color. Wonderful nose of tart peaches and lemons, limestone and sea shells. Very intense and powerful on the palate with deep flavors of lemons, pears and flinty minerals and good stinging acidity. Finishes quite complex with notes of sea water, tropical spices and limestone. Nicely saturated and dense but also quite refined. Very refreshing and elegant. As with most bottles Leflaive, there was a moderately acidic spine of chalky minerality and flint. Focused flavours of slightly buttered white flowers, peach, lemons and tropical fruits were present. It pretty dry and the oak treatment showed more in the background. The finish was pretty long and focused. A wine to cellar as I believe there is still more complexity to be gained. Overall, a very complete wine.

Med golden, deeper than the Pucelles. Nose of honeysuckle, plastic (reduction?). Conc on palate, plenty of floral aroma, less acidic than Pucelles, more mineral too here, wet stone. Very long and shall age well.

Rich gold. "Smells like a wet dog" Julia. Definitely some oxidation on the nose. Rich front end, strong acidity. Oak, lemon, lime, mellow, medium short finish with srong bitter tone. Excellent, much more enjoyable than last bottle.

Really complex and elegant. Layers of peach, tarter citrus fruits, smoke, flinty and chalky mineral notes, and higher toned herbal notes all come together on the nose and palate, and there's plenty of acidity beneath that keeps it very light on its feet. Time and air bring out more savoury complexity, and this finishes with good length.

(Cote de Beaune w Guillaume) Light sweet nose, honeysuckle and a hint of tropical fruit. No cashew nuttiness. Elegant, clean, very tall. Oily and sensual. A very impressive lingerin finish, stylish, oily-sweet minerality bathing the tongue in limestone and crushed seashells. Classic Puligny!

From a 375. Interesting synthetic closure. Wine was simple, strait forward chardonnay. Not a crowd pleaser. No butter, very little smoothness, no complexity in flavor profile.

Very attractive nose, adn on the palate there is a lot of intense lemon-lime acidity that gives way to deep fruit, very concentrated and energetic. Close to 13 degrees alcohol - ripe and lots of acidity. Will need time - extended aging in fact but really fabulous wine.
