Still has good fruit on the palate. Tannins are soft and the wine is well balanced.

Served after a 2005 Bounty Hunter Blind Justice, and that was a mistake. Ellie’s was good, but a big step down by all measures from the first wine of Christmas dinner

Bought and cellared since release. Cork is pristine, like it was just recently bottled. Color is not showing any aging. Followed over 2 hours. Napa cab nose. Dark/Violet fruit dominated taste: blackberries, black currants and plums. Very solid wine. Long finish. Best at 62-64F.

2 hour decant (would have benefited from 2 more). Full bodied punch in the face wine but o so damn good. This has the structure to go another 2 decades and I’m not quite sure this is within 5 years of its prime. Still slightly disjointed with a nice finish. Really incredible fruit. Far exceeded my expectations. A real hedonistic wine that I paired with Japanese A5 Wagyu and sweet potatoes.

One of the best wines we have had! Full of flavor, great full wine! We are pleased that we have one more bottle for later this year.

Classic, well-aged Napa Cab that paired great with grilled NY strips. Big bold dark fruit & smooth tannins.

Score based on 2nd day. Was tight on 1st night PnP, so recorded and left for next day. Completely opened up overnight and was the lush, dark, complex beast I was expecting. Lots of chocolate, coffee, earth, chalk, dark fruit on a long finish. Good acidity and fine but noticeable tannin. Its a mouthful but doesn't tire me out. Lots of fun tasting each time. Great QPR for what they were charging for it back then.

My lone bottle received from wine club years ago. Brought to a small get together for people who have just a tiny bit of appreciation of wine. IAMANDYC nailed the rating and the notes. Great bottle and wish I had more. Typically one of my least favorite Hall wines because it has a nice soft side to it but this was fabulous. Glad I still have a running vertical of every year since. Looking forward to the 09 (there was …

This was a fabulous bottle. Been laying down in wine room for 6 years. Served with a Chateaubriand. Over the top! Good news, I have 2 more:) The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle.

This is a classic Hall styled wine at its peak. Opens up pretty quickly. Velvety body with dark fruit and decent tannic backbone. Tannins are fine. Low acidity. Lots of oak, coffee, dark chocolate on the finish that is reasonably long. It's a mouthful and relatively heavy. Cocktail or dessert sipping type wine.

Seemed older than it should have. This bottle was slightly past peak, but still good. Hall wines are generally very age worthy, maybe this was a fluke?

Defiantly one of the best wines I have tasted. Hoping our 2010 bottles will age this well. The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, blueberry, raspberry and dust. It tastes like blackberry, blueberry, raspberry, dust and dust. The body is medium/full. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

Another wow wine on Xmas. Similar fruit profile to the Beau Vigne Reserve but had more spice and chalk notes. Initially delicious, the a dumb phase with strong tannins on day 1 but blossomed on day #2. Long finish! Has heft to it but still light-enough on its feet. Very complex even at this young age.

unfortunately this was given a very short decant before we left for dinner; needs at least 2 hour decant to bnurn off hi alcohol smell; Still to tannic to show its real stuff; nice as it was;long legs & great colour; would advise all to hold this at least another 2 years to allow it to mellow out & reach its potential

Received this wine as my CellarTracker Secret Santa gift earlier this month and decided to open it last night. We decanted it and enjoyed it over the next hour. This is the first wine I've had from this producer. Deep red color with lots of black currants and a touch of vanilla on the nose. The wine has an excellent, palate coating texture that is soft and velvety while still giving you a dose of rich fruit flavors that transition …

Really nice Cabernet in this bottle too. Again, this less expensive Hall wine makes me wonder why I bother with the expensive ones. There is much pleasure here. Purity, richness, berry fruit, some spice on the finish, and nice length make this a winner.

pretty good stuff--but have been spoiled by what Hall has produced since then (not quite as rich and layered as, e.g., the 2008 Kathryn's & Segassia which are really amazing still, although I was excited pretty excited when Jack's first released). May hold off on others to see what develops.

A very full and typifying California Cabernet Sauvignon. There are no serious flaws, but it's not very satisfying because it lacks depth and enticing complexity.

So Port really isn't my thing, but this is a lovely one. Blackberry and burnt currants dominate the palate, with undertones of brown sugar and maple that make the sweetness quite likable.
