We almost lost this one. Obviously it has existed in some unfavorable conditions, most likely upright. This cork smelled like blueberry pie, the bottle didn’t. So aerate and swirl and voila it comes back. Much sediment. Super dark purple color. The tannins and acid have surrendered. There is a lot of dark brooding plum, black cherry and currant. Medium tearing Medium(+) intense aromas of black plum, sweet tobacco, and oak (cinnamon) Palate: medium(+) flavors of ripe plum, dark cherry, and hints of cassis and a slight hint of menthol. Island Wines (What Am I Drinking?! Bryn Mawr, PA) : Nice buy for $14. Some funkiness on the nose, but otherwise a fresh, slightly medicinal red. Aged oak notes starting to creep in at this point. Not sure I'd want to hold this for much longer.

Tasted over 2 hrs -opaque purple with mild clearing at edges -uber juicy dark fruits wet stone -med acidity, med- weight decent concentration juicy dark fruits molasses licorice, med/med+ tannins and tar element on finish -OK, nicely lively

Having been introduced to the Corsican grape Niellucciu in the very enjoyable 2015 Domaine Vetriccie Rosé, I decided to try this full red, and we were very disappointed: very heavy tannins, decanting and even a day on the counter did not help, big but not complex taste trying to get through. We are trying to decide what to do with the second bottle.

2h air. Medium garnet color. Aromas of strawberry, stewed blackberry, dark chocolate, and cured meat. Bright and citrusy on the palate, with a leathery texture and firm tannins. Balanced, but given the acid levels an restrained fruit, probably best with food.

Drank blind, and never have I been so thrown by a wine. Medium to dark red core and relatively clear. The nose on this is very intriguing. It's so funky. It totally imitates a mature wine. No fruit, lots of raw meat, saddles and leather. With some mushrooms on the palatte too. I guessed 20 year old bordeaux! How is this only 3 years old?!

Took some time to open up on the nose, eventually yielding a strange blend of aromas, including animal fur, sweet raspberry, and licorice. Light flavors of raspberry and citrus on the palate, with a slight musk note throughout. An odd bitterness permeates the short finish. Not a fan.

Pnp. Dust on the nose initially and very tight. After several minutes in the glass this wine opens up quite a bit. 50% Niellucciu, 35 Syrah and 15 Grenache. If you spend a little time with this one it really grows on you. The Niellucciu is a very unusual grape varietal to find in a wine ( in the new world at least) and it adds a bramble and somewhat resinous flavors to the other Rhône grapes. Overall, a fairly …

Second taste with others and still amazing. Not sure why/how my reviews are so different than others regarding this wine. Paired with homemade meatballs, pasta, spinach salad and Italian dressing, and a little baguette. Great harmony on this wine.
