Deep amber color. Lovely aromas of figs, honey and ginger. On the palate, rich and sweet flavors of caramel, coffee and chocolate, well-balanced by lively acidity, and exhibiting a very long finish. A wine to enjoy at the end of dinner in lieu of dessert.

Figgy nose and a rich Christmas pudding flavor with burned toffee. Viscous and mouth filling, long finish. It is indeed thick and syrupy, but there’s at least a bit of snappy acid to balance it. I thought this was pretty decent stuff.

I enjoyed this as a night cap over several days and it managed to stay fresh. Love the apricot and prune flavors and the long finish.

Intense figs, dates, and raisins balanc3ld near perfectly with an acidic backbone. Last bottle. But best yet.

We opened five dessert wines right, and this was in the top two. Rich and explosive on the palette. Just want to keep sipping. Golden amber to the eye. Lychee, lots of lychee, on the nose and palette. This was added to the cellar in early 2012 on release - it’s done incredibly well.

Remains consistent with dried apricot and prunes on the nose and palate. Maybe a slight hint of caramel.

Fig, Raisin, Baked Apple. Drink up within the next few years.

OMG Freddie, this is divine. Just a real hero wine that defines what Aussie cabernet/shiraz blend should aspire to. 24 years young and just massive fruit present with blackberry notes and deep complexity. Finishes long and clean. Wish I had a case of this. will last but as thge tastr said ,why wait? Just grab yourself some wagyu, a bbq and a friend and enjoy the fruits of nature.

Cellared for 9 years. More like tawney port. Dense raisin and fig. Nice with an apple tart.

Fun to drink, though not something I'd make a habit of; quite thick, rich and sweet - I tend to prefer something with more acidity and vibrancy and less overt sweetness, but fun nonetheless.

Drink up. Delicious, but the acidity is fading. Becoming syrupy.

Caramel, maple syrup, very sweet, long, mature.

Supremely fresh and really good. Very Cabernet nose of tobacco and fresh cassis. It is rich and layered in the mouth, with a sweet core of briary fruits and some earthy nuance. It is complex, nicely balanced and very long.

Plum, plum, plum and some raisins. Good but hasn't the acidity to balance the sweetness.

Toffee brown color and clear. Sweet nose of dried raisins and caramel. Same profile on the palate with pronounce dried raisins on the sweet and syrupy wine. While good, not as good as their tawny.

Treacle sweet. Small pour is enjoyable.

Coffee colored syrupy rich nose and palate with a cinnamon notes on the finish.

Drinking beautifully but I don’t see any benefit to waiting

Clear, medium intensity, brown color. Pronounced nose with great depth to the aromas with yellow raisin, prune, resin, caramel, glue stick, brown spice, bitter orange and dried flowers. Fully sweet on the palate with viscous mouthfeel and a razor sharp acidity that keeps everything in balance. The fruit feels surprisingly fresh on the palate with candied citrus, dried plum, brown spice and caramel. Very long finish that ends rather dry. Not the most captivating sweet wine but has balance, complexity …

At 20 years old this commands respect. The cork crumbled but the aroma from the decanter was rich and glorious. The fruit - perfectly- intact. About 2 hours this still hasn't peaked. Suggest 4 hours of breathing and wanting and waiting. The acidity of the linear cabernet like an arrow into the broad enveolping shiraz that awaits is just a destiny fulfilled. Rich yet razor like. Seductive femme fatale. More more more.

Bouteille achetée en 2006, encore en forme, pas mal de tartre et de dépot. Super beau nez sur la tire éponge, la fumée, les abricots et les épices. En bouche, fort complexe et assez bien équilibré. Sucré mais pas à outrance. Saveurs de toffee, tabac, dattes, figues, marmelade, fumée, giroffle et pêches. Très long et for délicieux...mieux que bien des Tawny au double et même triple du prix!

Lush, thick and smooth. A little heavy, but very pleasant none the less.

this seems to have taken a step back in more recent releases -- not sure if they have scaled up production? still a nice representation of the style, but missing the balance it used to have.

Great dessert wine. Many qualities of a nice 20yr Tawney yet not the alcohol burn. Pretty fresh on the palate and yet no syrup on texture. A stand out when you want a dessert wine but not the thick sweet character of one an if you are wanting a port but not the heaviness of one.

Rich, sweet, sticky. Perfect with rich caramel and chocolate desserts.

This little wine never fails to amaze me! This bottle stored in cellar for 15 years or so. Complex and very tasty stuff.

Brown color that is between over steeped tea and weak coffee. Carmel, fig and raisin flavors that is not overly sweet. Great value

4 Medium brown in color with floral nuance overtones persisting over lemon head candy, brown sugar, and fig. Lusciously sweet with medium acidity. More hard candy, brown sugar, and a layer of creme brûlée on the palate. An exemplar from Rutherglen. Excellent.

Does show some Muscat floral to the nose. Palate hides some peach fruit amongst the aged notes of caramel and treacle.

Wonderful sticky with nice raisiny, nutty flavors. Honey, orange peel also are in attendance. Nice balance; on the edge of being a bit too sweet for the level of acid. Drank it over 1 year with minimal changes.

Butterscotch, toffee, unctuous, really nice

Opened by J3. A portlike dessert wine. Some alcohol on the nose. Notes of raisins and prunes. Rather sweet and wanted a little more grip. 89 points.

Dark amber brown color. PNP, drank 1 glass over an hour. The nose is pleasant with lots of raisin and fig, molasses, cashew, orange peel. The palate starts off well, hitting you with intense flavors of raisin, fig, creamy texture, maple syrup, chocolate covered raisins, orange, orange peel; but this fairly quickly seems syrupy and very sweet. A little goes a long way for me. Enjoyable in smaller quantities.

Great value for a sweet wine. Tawny-like as others have mentioned. Could use more acidity to avoid being cloying, and there were some faint medicinal/cough syrup notes on the finish I didnt particularly care for. Lots of sweet, nutty, coffee, caramel goodness to offer.

This went great with Lynn's delicious bourbon and Coke chocolate Bundt cake that she whipped up for Cathy's birthday. This muscat is a great finisher whatever the occasional. And at under $14, a definite steal. Last bottle in my cellar, but definitely getting more

Finally got to this wine, bought in 2005. Deep brown color with an extraordinary velvety, viscous feeling in the mouth. Rich bouquet and flavor of toffee, highlighted by just the right amount of acidity. Excellent balance and depth with a long finish. Very nice and very cheap.

Really aromatic with notes of dried fruits, burnt toffee and chocolate. Really rich and unctuous with a lovely sweetness but balanced by good acidity. Powerful and intensely flavoured with a nutty rancio character, dark chocolate and a baked fruit note. Really long and superb value as always for under £10.

The wine looks tawny colored. It smells like fig and butterscotch.

Very soft on the palate, seems lacking in structure. Masses of sweet caramel, butter and toffee notes - so flavorful and rich. Almost too sweet really, but fun to drink and there is quality there. After opening, I put half the bottle in the refrigerator and finished it two months later; it was still lovely and hadn't oxidized at all as far as I could taste.

Hearthstone amber with a molasses tint. Alcoholic nose; sharpie. Strong molasses, syrupy body, alcohol is biting. Its trying to be a PX but falls very short.
