Earthy and fruit forward, opened an hour before hand but took about two additional to finish with a tomahawk steak. Pairs well with food but I don’t think it needs it. I was getting raspberries and not as harsh tannins.

About as good as it gets for the regular Odette. Pretty much fully integrated now but many, many years left on this. Really phenomenal stuff.

Opened on Saturday and finished on Tuesday. This was pulled late night to defend the cellar. A bit disjointed with heat for the first two glasses. Slow ox in the bottle really worked wonders. I’m glad we didn’t polish it off Saturday night. Hold or long slow ox. 93

At PNP there is a good amount of bite in the tannins which isn't uncommon considering the vintage. After slow ox this resolves into a pretty enjoyable bottle of wine. In a good window to enjoy. Verdict is out one how these will age after 10+ considering the oldest vintage is 2012. 94

Very fruit forward at opening, but given a little time the wine evened out and was spectacular.

This is drinking beautifully right now. Fantastic aroma followed by a smooth fruit forward wine with nice tannins. There is some sediment that should be filtered out (if desired). I am new to Odette and have had this and the 2016 vintage. Both are outstanding and I am an instant fan of this winery and love the Stags Leap region.

Changed quite a bit during the evening. On a pnp at cellar temp, it was slightly bitter. Over time this evolved with dark fruits, a little earth, and the finish had noticeable, but in balance, oak. During this period, it was delicious. A couple of hours later, the wine had softened too much and there was tea in the background. I liked this but felt it fell apart quickly and I would not decant a long time; thirty minutes would …

Full of black fruit, blueberry and graphite. Some mocha and earthiness. Silky tannins and a 15-second finish.

One of my favorite Stag’s Leap wines. Black cherry and violet aromas with flavors of licorice, blackberry and blueberry pie. 15-second mineral-lacesd finish.

Coravined two glasses night one and full cork pull on night two. Out of the Coravin at cellar temp this was opulent and sexy. Dark purple in the glass. Full bodied with dark blues, plum, chocolate and slate. With extended ox and room temp the wine became a little boozy with heat. A little hedonism can deliver a nice change of pace every now and then. This reminded me a bit of Realm Tempest in guilty pleasure kind of way. …

Inky ruby in the glass. Dark fruit on the palate. Anise in the finish. Super delicious - so good. This was my favorite wine of the evening.

Quick decant followed by a 1 hour slow ox. Absolutely gorgeous wine, definitely at its peak drinking window but plenty of life to go. Great QPR, this one punches well above its level.

Wonderful cab that is in a perfect place imo. Lifted on the palate, a bit of smokiness/earthiness.

Really opened up after 5 hour decant. Super dark fruit blueberries, cassis with graphite, minerals on the mid palate finishing with silky tannins and a mid to long finish.

This is a very aromatic wine. Intoxicating. The tannins are well-integrated delivery a smooth, velvety finish. Bold dark fruit flavors, dark chocolate and wet stone. This wine is very well made and memorable. Great pedigree. Simply fantastic and one of my favorite wines. Jeff Ames knocks another one out of the park.

Exhibited floral notes and black and blue fruit. On the palate, blackberry, black cherry, mocha and plum. Some red cherry fruit and a lasting minerality on the finish. Outstanding wine!

Excellent now. Classic Stag's Leap -- dark red fruit, good structure, long finish.

Consistent with prior experiences- just an extremely well made wine with years and years left in the tank. I loved this wine when the price was $105, less so now that it’s ticked up to around $150. But it still drinks like a wine above that price point, at least for my palate. Next bottle ideally in 2022, last one in 2035 (yeah right, like it’ll even make it that far)

Continues to improve but drinking beautifully now. Paired with a ribeye. This was just singing. Odette wines, across vintages, have always impressed.

After realizing that its been almost 18 months since I last had this wine, decided that Game 7 of the World Series was a good enough excuse to pop the cork. As always, this wine does not disappoint. With 90 minutes in the decanter, it was ready to go. Structured with a solid 20 second finish. Still has the stuffing to age for the next several years at least. Well done Odette... Next bottle in a couple years.
