On pop and pour this took me completely by surprise by being an incredibly primary, seemingly under elevaged wine. A day later it is still quite reductive and markedly lingonberry-like on the nose but now there is also more attractive sour cherry tones and the palate is likewise more harmonious. The texture is rather nice as there are solid tannins and some chewiness to it. That said there is nothing particularly interesting about it and it is very monotone - …

A blend of Barbera (50%) and Nebbiolo (50%). Fermented and macerated for 10 days, then moved to oak barrels to age. Aged for 6 months. 15% alcohol. Dark, almost fully opaque garnet. Sweet, dark-toned and very sunny nose with almost primary aromas of sweet bilberries and boysenberries, some plummy tones, a little bit of cherry marmalade, light gravelly mineral tones, a hint of fresh red berries and a touch of earth. Very ripe, broad and rather primary on the palate …

50/50 Nebbiolo/barbers. this is a fantastic wine for the price. Wonderfully ripe. Really shined on the second day. Strong red fruit with a subtle black blue fruit overtone. Finish is very earthy, stone dirt thing. The acid is fantastic and is really where this wine shines. Gripping tannins. Great qpr. Would absolutely buy again. You could let this sit a few years and it would be great but it’s excellent now.

Only getting better on its last day open. Touch of purple and dark past nebbiolo. Lots of florals, dark red and black berries, mineral core. Open on the palate, balanced structure. Tannins are assertive but not overbearing. In a great spot given its age. Only downside may be the price.

While the mix is 50/50, it tastes more like Barbera with Nebbiolo tannic structure. High tannins meet high acidity day 1, on the next day a little calmer. Very clean and pure fruit profile. Eccellent aromatics. Ca benefit from few years of cellaring.
