I think yes overall you can drink this , but with so many good tempranillo at affordable prices i cant give this one a pass . Too much oak , chocolate after taste.

A bright and spicy red and blue fruits nose with undertones of vanilla oak and sweet spices. Palate is fresh, some minerality and clean. Good level of earthy fruit and tannins on the medium to full-bodied structure. Savoury transition to a tight and austere finish. This wine needs more development for higher harmony.

Nase nach Kirschen, deutlich Kokos, etwas Vanille. Dazu etwas eukalyptisch frisch, hintergründig weitere Aromen vom Holzausbau wie Zigarrenkiste und etwas Tabak-Blatt. Mit viel Luft auch sautierte Champignons. Am Gaumen vollmundig, füllig, dabei aber mit guter Säure, gutem Zug. Recht dunkle Mineralik. Pikant, angenehm feines, leicht-griffiges Tannin. Hier auch mit etwas Lakritz. Guter Abgang, anständige Länge. Das macht eine halbe Flasche lang Freude.

It’s nothing wonderful. Overwhelming taste is tangy and tart. Not much depth. The flavor of cherry and berry is overshadowed. Not pleasant at all. We went into day 3 of this bottle and wound up dumping it out. Got worse each day it was open. Not on the repeat purchase list.

Liked this a touch better than the recent 94 Reserva. A bit more freshness and acidity here but similarly forward sweet fruit without a lot of depth or complexity. Good everyday Rioja

First bottle I've had in a couple of years. Feels like it's thinned out a bit. Can't say it's for the worse, only different. I can only assume, based on this showing, that this wine is in some slow, long evolution; just don't know to where.

Had with bruschetta tartufata (or my version of it). No formal notes. Descriptors probably similar to the 1997, but this wine is fuller, better balanced. Worth the $5 upgrade to $15.

With Itziar at Jose Luis restaurant in Madrid. A very easy cherry wine to drink. Transparent and very aromatic. Una cereza muy fácil de beber. Transparente y muy aromático.
