Jumping to day 3 on this one and much improved. Earth, pipe tobacco, sour cherries, bay leaves and leather. Medium plus finish. Solid effort. 89 points

Purple hue that opens with dried leaves and rosemary. Dried blackberry and raisin dominate the palate. Excellent acidity/fruit balance with a lingering finish of tobacco and cocoa. Similar to the first bottle we consumed, but wondering if the food pairing skewed my palate somewhat. Either way, I need to exercise patience before opening the last two bottles to see how time affects their maturation.

Deep purple hue that opens with dried leaves and black pepper aromas. Blackberry and fig dominate the front palate while cedar and cocoa notes linger on the finish. A great acidity/fruit balance on a full-bodied density wine.

Day 1: This is outstanding. Drinks well on a pop and pour. Earth, plum, ripe cherries, spice and coco. Medium finish and good acidity. Decant but a bit too much oak. Earth, subtle fruit and harsh acidity. Not a great purchase. 83 points Evolution 2 days later. This is why you never give up on a wine. Hated this and regretted the purchase up front. Much more dense with coffee beans, dark fruits, tobacco and vanilla/oak. Medium plus finish and adds a chocolate element.
