This wine demands a long decant. We didn't decant it. Rather we drank it over three days with the last one being the best! There is an amazing core of sweet fruit that propels this beauty onward. Nice mouthfeel and aftertaste complete the picture. It was worth the wait. I think it has more years ahead of it.

Very much alive. Red fruits and mint on the nose. Fresh and acidic - great body. Still some working tannins that That deliver a very drinkable wine.

What a delightfully playful and mature wine. Youthful in its dark fruit flavors and perfectly mellow tannins. Served with pasta Bolognese and it was a perfect compliment. Wish I had another.

Delicious! Spicy and lively with smoky and spicy notes. It's coming into its own now.

Dark berries, spices, pepper , touch of anise and oak. Powerful and elegant wine. I like the Mencia grape with its minerality and stringent bitterness. I my recollectionPalacios' Petalos shows a lot of the same quality and maybe with a little bit more fruit and charme. Nevertheless I look forward to taste it again.

Delicious. This was a pretty soft, but still structured wine. Loads of blackberry and dark cherry fruit. Very well balamced, nice sweetness but good acidity and soft tannins. A really nice tasty wine.

As others have said, this is a very SuperTuscan like wine. Earthy and big. Enjoy!

One of the few Bierzo wines I've had and certainly the best. Drinking very well right now and I think it will be in a good spot for the next few years. This is a wine I wouldn't mind having more of

Pretty big and juicy, and not very tannic at all; kinda like, yeah, a good quality southern Rhone red. The Supertuscan comparison also makes sense. Distinctly unlike the handful of other (all cheaper, I think) Mencia-based Bierzos I've enjoyed the last few years: those have all had an appealing lighter touch a bit like much Cru Bojo. This is deeper, which seems neither better nor worse to me but distinctly different. Gutsy enough to stand up to a boldly flavored …

New varietal for us. Bright cherry on the front, with pretty zingy acid. Reminds me of sangio up front and cabernet on the back palate and finish. Got a lot of hi toned blue fruits and chewy tannin. Reminiscent of a super tuscan.

Soft a and supple. Quite dark in color which makes one expect a harsher young offering, but can be drunk anytime now.

Solid wine for the price. Deep ruby color. Spice, dark fruit on the nose, good balance. Excellent compliment to the grilled meats and veggies. Outstanding Spanish performer.

Nose is a bit muted, but mid palate and finish are excellent, with plenty of acidity on the finish, and decent fruit in the mid palate. Quite a bit lighter than Tilenus Bierzo Paso de Pasada Mencia sampled the same evening.

As others stated below, very CdR like indeed. Deep red color, nice viscosity. Vegetable funk disappeared within 30 min, red cherries, blackberries, a bit of leather tannins. Nice with a steak. Left a half bottle to try on day 2. Will update the score if necessary. Update day 2: the wine naturally opened up and mellowed a bit more. Still a very good drink with an 88+ points. Enjoyable.

I love a Mencia wine, always have. Always very fresh fruit. This version is more oaked than the previous ones I've had, which probably helps garner higher scores, but believe me, it works. Loved this.

Oh yeah! Rhone-ish for sure, and what made this absolutely sing was a strong indolic animal note. WOTN amidst some pretty good Priorats (Gran Clos, Mas Doix) and others.

Very CDR ish. Black cherries, leather and spice. One of the few WTSO's i've bought that was actually better than described.

Deep, black red color. Dried cherry, licorice, anise nose. Big dusty cherries, plum, leather, spice, herb, a drying tanin bite, chewy, a little out of balance, very CDR ish. Drinks OK now, but could probably sit for a few more years too. Day 2 update. Really opened up. Decadent. Would give it a 89 on day 2

Well made wine, good balance and aroma, but i think parker and tanzer are a bit too generous.
