Good stuff, nicely integrated now, Not sure what all the eucalyptus notes are about, I didn't get that at all. Good dark fruit with some decent tannic backbone. Drinking well, but will go another couple of years. Great with a 3 year old Gouda.

We liked the wine but we expected more. Maybe it was because four vines boldly touts all their wines. Maybe because we like Tempranillo we expected to much. Whatever; it was drinkable with a chewy eucalyptus finish. We pick up hints of mint and possibly anise. I don't think additional time would have helped. We're not trashing it with this review. Perhaps we are exposing our ignorance of really good Tempranillo grown in California.

Rich and a little edgy. Pouring it into the glass, eucalyptus erupted into the air. The wine was a beautiful in the glass. Hints of clove and leather complemented the mature jammy finish. And we still have another bottle; we'll be looking forward to that.

Not sure what to make of this wine. There are tastes and flavors going on that I am not familiar with. I've had wonderfully complex Tempranillo from Spain, and wonderfully simple but fruity Tempranillo from California, but this wine is nothing like either. Or like anything else I can put my finger on. Interesting and nice, but not quite the complexity and flair I recall from the tasting room during our August 2007 visit. Flashes of depth and complexity, but it never really came together. A nose you can enjoy across the room! Garnet colored. Rich and lush with concentrated berry and plum. Not your earthy Spanish Tempranillo but good in a completly different way -- a Four Vines way. Nice silky finish with a bit of spice. Yum. 15% alco, cork (D 6.6, F6; Cent)

I liked this better than the 2004, even though it is a younger wine. It is showing more integration, less alcoholic heat. Heavy and round, with dark red and black fruits and touches of spice. If you like fruit-forward tempranillos, this would be a good choice.
