Presqu'ile Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard

Superb. Beautiful color, starting to see a little maturity in the red. Nice acid still left, and the tannins are almost fully integrated. A bit of cherry and strawberry, some black truffle, black pepper.

A solid wine, but it's probably more of a data point to the argument that, "Nebbiolo doesn't travel". The general flavor profile has elements that would could steer you towards Nebbiolo a bit, but the overall structure isn't anything that would make you think Piedmont. It's probably more of an interesting experiment, rather than something that gets me excited about a future where I'm exploring the terroir for CA Nebbiolo.

Pretty good rendition of Nebbiolo. Lacks a bit of acidity and no particular nuances could be detected. Nicely made but not special, and certainly overpriced compared to any entry level Barbaresco.
