Taverna Aglianico del Vulture Taverna

Robust, sträv med toner av enbär, mörk frukt och bra syra. Detta kräver lite fet och smakrik mat. Kan med lätthet få vila ytterligare några år.

This wine gets better after aging in the bottle for at least 6 years. This is typical for Aglianico del Vulture DOCG wines. In summer 2015 the 2008 vintage is a great food wine but after a few years more in the cellar who knows what this turns out to be.

Starts to improve with the age.

There is some fruit there somewhere but it's fading; and there are tannins and there is freshness; just that it doesn't feel as tight and fleshed out and structured as I would have hoped. Not bad, but not worth revisiting either. and certainly too soft to age for much longer.

Drank this vintage a year ago. At that time it was extremly tannic but promising. It is by no means an extraordinary wine but a good food wine. A year later the tannins have taken a small step back. The fruits are still there in full power. The wine is a little bit better balanced but only with a hint of matureness. en Aglianico del Vulture från sydligaste Italien. Strävt, kompakt och klart traditionellt i framtoningen kräver det mat med must och kraft, en pasta med långkokt nötkött och rejäl ört- och vitlökskrydda till exempel. Och 2-3 år i källaren skulle inte skada för att få bukt med de barska tanninerna.
