PnP Z universal. Forsmak med Magnus i semifinale i lynsjakk. Rein lukt med lyst tre, tørket sitrus skall. Relativt elegant kraft

Beautiful pairing with tajarin in butter and bottarga at BdM. That said, it is moderately more waxy and lanolin, less lemony and mineral, than the '15 shows.

There is nothing else like this wine. The salinity, minerality, oxididative sherry character, all make it just super good with some kinds of food. We had it with a Cuban meal, and it worked quite well.

Layered, developed nose with waxy bruised peach, dried lemon, dried herbs and cheese rind. Quite saline. Great acidity but has lost some of its vibrancy on the palate. Wonderfully long hazelnut and mushroom finish though. Maybe I was cavalier with my score on this last time (I was) or this bottle is suffering from variation but based on today's showing I will not sit on my remaining two bottles for much longer. Not the best Gravonia but still enjoyable and …

Although this still brings you a little bit of the very special unique joy of Gravonia, this is indeed a weaker vintage of this cuvee. This is a bit dilute and thin at the end. For once more of a little Gravonia disappointment. Luckily my only bottle left of the 2013 so looking forward to my next bottles from either 2012 or 2014.

That tell tale Gravonia nose of butter, hazelnut, bees wax, toasted aromas, cheese rind, floral notes, lemon and grape fruit. Phenolic palate, nuts, bruised apple, lemon, waxy, minerality, long aftertaste. Rich, oily mouthfeel. Great as always

17 months after the prior, and our seventh of this vintage: Once more, a cornucopia of delightful savory, marzipan, and nutty flavors, framed by bracing acidity and trademark waxy texture. Such a distinctive and fabulous wine. Marvelous over the course of six nights, gassed in between to preserve freshness (although we probably didn’t need to do so).

Deep golden. Tasted besides the 2012 gravonia. Gutiérrez scored it 93 after tasting the 2012, resuming that the 2013 grapes didn't achieved the ripeness of the 2012 because of the cold and rainy conditions in this vintage. However with some years of bottle age the 2013 is indeed a little bit lighter, but both on a high level. As long as the 2012, just missing a bit of the immediate punch of this. 5/13/18/9. -2028+

So unique. Sherry notes and dried apple, bone dry on the palate, great with cheese

Another great vintage. This is in a lovely spot. Plenty of fruit remains. Shimmering, light gold, toasted hazelnut and lime peel, great stuff.

My bottle. Tawny color, mildly cloudy. At the tasting, the flor was front and center. Very sherried, more than I remembered, and some didn't care for it. BUT! Sampled the remainders at home the next night and wow: there it was, all of it, everything I expected the night before. The oxidative notes that dominated were, though still there, no longer the lead vocalist and dry honey plus a panoply of cheerful citrus elements had joined it. Spectacular: if you …

Great as always. More evolved (in a nice way) than the 2014 I had recently. More richness and body. Really fresh, yet oxidative. Still lots of years in the tank. Unfortunate that these wines have gotten more expensive. The price has is now more closely following its quality. Paid € 38,- for my bottles. But for around € 60,- market price, it is still a wine you should not hesitate to buy.

more developed, and more improved, since my last note popped and poured (after some struggle with the cork) baked brown lemons, yoghurt, yeast, and salted nuts on the nose. very complex and savoury nose piercing lemony acidity on the palate with a round mouthfeel and high acidity still good for mid-term ageing and maybe even longer term ageing will continue improving with time

No detailed notes but very dry with mature notes of wax and lemon. Very little fruit left. Not for everybody. Excellent with grilled fish and seafood. Not sure if there's an upside to saving this any longer? Will hold the last bottle to find out though.

Excellent aged white. Think bees wax, leather, honey. For me, in a league of its own, I do not know a wine like this one. I like, the wife not.

A great damp cellar characteristic on the nose, alongside mushroom, polished wood, spicy wood. Great creamy richness on the palette, like custard. Sweet lemon on the tip of the tongue. Very different to the last time I had this label. Better a little for me.

Pours a deep gold. Those all so familiar and reassuring aromas of wood spice, sandalwood, fino - dry sherry - blanched almonds, marzipan, and damp mushrooms inside a brown paper bag. Dense, concentrated, and long. Oscillating between richness and austerity. Does this ever disappoint?

The aroma is all encompassing, rich, and ever enduring. Notes of bees wax, cheese rind, butter, flowers, and a soft apple-like acidity. The mouthfeel is rich and oily. Opens creamy, butter and hazelnuts. Then comes acidity, bitterness, but the creaminess lingers. Astonishing!

PnP and consumed over a couple of days. Trademark LdH white profile, mature and intense flavors, dried peaches on palate, profound, oily, very complex, mouth coating, and adjectives could go on... It's a great wine and it's the whites where LdH shines the most. Outstanding and still a bargain at 40€. Very enjoyable now and could last more years.

100% Viura from Viña Gravonia (aka. Zaconia) vineyard in the municipality of Zaco, purchased in 1909-1912 and replanted in 1925. The wine gets its name from being a Spanish emulation of the classic whites of the Graves region. After the spontaneous fermentation, the wine is aged for 4 years in predominantly old American oak barrels and bottled unfiltered. Labeled "Crianza", although the wine is effectively a Gran Reserva. 12% alcohol. Tasted in a Gravonia 2011-1993 vertical tasting. Quite deep, concentrated …

Agree with JDUNLAP on this note. I love LDH whites and it was a treat to taste (or guzzle) their 1994. It was a little over the hill, and lost a little bit of flavor, but wasn't all that different to the 2004 I recently had. Wax. Petrol. No fruit. Fun.

Purchased about ten years ago and stored in cool conditions since. Was not sure what to expect, but wanted to see how this white wine was doing at 20 years. Limited tableside notes include: Ullage was good and cork came out in one piece. Color was golden, but not too dark. Nose was quite good with no overt oxidation. Nose of apple and beeswax, may be a touch floral at the end. Flavors were also well balanced with more apple …

Surprisingly good, and a fine counterpart to a grilled salmon dinner. This wine was unlike anything I've had before, and not what I expected: a heaping helping of oak and oxidation, to be sure, but nicely offset with lemony acidity. On the palate, a pleasing balance of waxy golden delicious apples, hazelnuts, and bracing minerality.

Dark golden wine, wih a poweful nose of marzipan, toasty oak, bee wax and floral tones. The palate is rich, thick, and mature, with medium acidity and a component that resembles butterscotch but not quite the way one experiences it with Chardonnay. A long finish with notes of roasted notes and dried fruit follows. This is a very pleasant wine, that needs considerable aeration to show its best and can stand up to powerful dishes. Drink now and in the …

This is very old-school Spanish white, or at least what I believe old-school probably was. All I get is wood. DW liked it (really????) for the crisp yellow apple flavor. Guess I'll be seeking out more white Rioja.

A Blend of Malvasia, Viura and Macabeau, the color of vina gravonia is bright golden. The first nose shows aromas of bee wax combined with yellow fruit. After aeration it brings up some mineral tones and green spices such as laurel with a noticeable amount of wood. In the mouth is full bodied, elegant and long with very good acidity. The aromas in the mouth and finish are focused on the smoke and wood notes.
