Scarpantoni Chardonnay Unwooded

Lol. Look at the notes from 2005. Still dead on; the wine hasn't changed! Richer so higher score, well-received at a blind tasting. But where do the notes of road come from?

WIML87,NOWA,NOWS Tasted October 16, 2005 at a retail tasting so brief comments. Opened and served immediate in Riedel restaurant line Syrah glasses. Yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of vanilla, pear and yellow apple. Flavors of green apple, lime and pear. Tangy acidity that will hopefully settle down with a little time, otherwise in balance. Drink over the short term. Decent QPR and only recommended on that basis. I’m passing myself.

Clear, light gold color. Aroma of apples, pears and a slight hint of honey. Taste very clean and bright. Apples. Pleasant medium finish. Because it is unwooded, it doen not have the typical chardonnay heaviness.
