Very dark and inky. Eucalyptus nose and menthol flavors with black fruits — ripe blueberries and black raspberries. More interesting than the typical California fruit bomb.

A very interesting blend! Completely matches the winemaker's description...starting from the menthol o the nose. Last of 4 bottles. Will look to find and hold a few more.

Hope Family Wines' 2017 Quest is an opaque crimson, unspecified blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Franc. Splash-decanted and tasted over the ensuing two hours, it fully unleashes its aromas after the first hour to reveal a ripe package of blackberries, boysenberries, cassis, graphite and licorice. Full-bodied, fresh and without any heat from its 14.5% alcohol, it delivers flavors in line with the nose, adding notes of bittersweet chocolate and spicy oak. At this early …

Good for the price. Ran through the Vinturi and had a little herbal/vegetal funk too it. Came back about an hour later and was quite good.

This is a nice everyday wine, but not as good as other red blends in Paso Robles with the same price point.

Not sure what’s going on here. I had a bottle a month ago and scored it a 91. This wasn’t a “bad bottle” it seemed like a completely different wine. Over extracted fruit bomb that tasted like Sweet Tart candies.

Liked it less and less as I had more of it..:dark, inky, Syrah-tasting, dark plum, fruit bomb in first third of palate...made up of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Petite Syrah and Cab Franc...good structure

Mid-labeled as Cabernet-Shiraz blend. It is actually CS-PV-Merlot-PS-CF so nearly a Bordeaux blend w/o Malbec and with PS. A bit tight on opening but after substantial time opens up with a fullness of black fruit, balanced structure with vanilla and spice. Maintains a fruit forward complexion.

A remarkable value for $24. This blend is full of body and complexity. This is Austin Hope's expression of all that Paso Robles can be... and the sum is much greater than its parts. You'll find the suppleness that is characteristic of the region blended with enough lush power to stand up to wines costing twice as much.
