Decent price at state store so I coravin tasted this vintage for this wine that I’ve found punches above its price point in the vintages I’ve tasted starting with 2015. This wine is fleshy, flashy and the Merlot jumps out. Smooth very fruit forward but there’s more there and it’s a little hot and a bit over extracted perhaps but not painfully so. A bit high in alcohol and ripeness, could use more acidity but still decent, but not my cup of tea.

Drinking really well this early. Very composed.. Could crush a bottle easily. Nose of plums cassis with hints of mandarin.Medium red fruit juicy acidity with the merlot giving a sweet finish.

First red tasted from the Vancouver Bordeaux release. On nose: lively nose of Asian spices, ripe plum, dark blackberry,and a hint of black licquorice. On palate: all above flavour notes in sync, with prominent vanilla/oak, and a nuance of Valrhona chocolate , on a full bodied, lush finish, with mild tannins. Very new world...14.5% alcohol, very forward and approachable at only 3 years of age. 80% Merlot 20% Cabernet Franc Great wine for everything from Texas Bbq to Prime rib.

Oak notes of toasted vanilla currently overpower the fruit. It’s currently closed and not ready to taste yet, but once the oak integrates, it will be a very tasty wine.

Seductive on the palate with its layers of perfectly ripe, black plums, black cherries, licorice, and chocolate. The long, expansive finish seals the deal with its lift, energy, and hint of salt on the back end. The wine is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Violets, plums, cherries and licorice fill the nose. From there, the medium-bodied wine is opulent, fruity, deep and dark, with elements of chocolate, black plums, black cherries, spice and licorice on the mid-palate that carry through to the finish.
