Je vais lui donner la note de passage car il offre beaucoup de fruit (bleut et cassis) mais, le fait qu'il tombe dans la catégorie semi-sec avec ses 5g/L de sucre résiduel, et oui malheureusement, le font pâlir à mes yeux et désole mes papilles. Ce vin était sec dans les années '90 mais, hélas, suit aussi la mode américaine des vins sucrés.

Avons dégusté ce vin avec des pâtes poulet et pesto aux tomates séchées ... Un bon mariage ... Nez sur les fruits, beaucoup de jambe ... Ma blonde continue de dire que les papilles sont sur le caramel, je maintiens la vanille et la noix de coco avec les fruits bien sûr ... Une finale très intéressante compte tenu de son rang ...

Avons carafé ce vin pendant 30 minutes et une année de plus en cave a fait le plus grand bien ... Fruits au nez, de la jambe à profusion et cerises noirs aux papilles en premier avec la vanille en second qui trahit son séjour en barrique ... Un bon rapport qualité prix pour ce vin que je vais laisser mûrir en cave pour la prochaine année à tout le moins ...

Zweder has it absolutely right. Good example of what made this such a phenomenal commercials success. This is very good wine but the complexity which either through the nose or the taste draws you in to a great wine simply is not there.

Monthly Tasting Group LTB; California (by MdW) : Fairly concentrated bouquet with dark cherries, cassis, ok oak, some chocolate and also freshness. On the palate lush black fruits and buttery soft tannin. A bit one dimensional and not really interesting, but certainly an ok wine.

Nice, aromatic nose of black cherries and spice. Good dark fruits on the palate, with moderate wood tannins. Finish is decent and relatively long. This wine ain't bad, especially liked the supple mouthfeel it gave. Changed my mind about this, good QPR, especially for a Californian cab.

Un vin qui a un grand potentiel mais qui n'est pas encore atteint sa pleine maturité ... Allons laisser réfléchir les autres bouteilles que nous avons en cave ... Première impression, malgré sa jeunesse, un goût de caramel, selon ma blonde, qui est très intéressant et prometteur ... Pour ma part les tanins laissent entrevoir une capacité à traverser les trois prochaines années ... À suivre ...

I've had good rieslings that I would absolutely drink again. This isn't one of them. Too sweet. I wouldn't categorize as "bad" wine, but just didn't do it for me.

Very very respectable CA cab. Not too oak-y. Lots of chocolate, cedar, plums, blackberries, good acidity balance. Still somewhat tannic as of 9/2010, but should mellow-out nicely in about a year. Also, not very high in alcohol content (13.5), which is a nice change of pace for CA. Served with butternut squash and sausage risotto. Paired beautifully. Excellent value.

Probably worth the price, albeit uninteresting. Was fine for weekday dinner (homemade Chinese food). Spicy dishes overpowered it a little bit. Not a lot of nose, tasted some pineapple, apricot. Pretty dry stuff, would have liked a tad more sweetness. Had some finish, which was appreciated.

AA Wine Tasting Great Wine Made Simple (San Francisco) : Possibly the most complicated of the (very cheap) night. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Complex, light bodied, crisp with a bit of sweetness. Very fruity. Definitely worth the price.
