Covert Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Black Label

I’ve had a rough go with these so far (2014/2015’s) where they came off oxidized or in a very weird phase. I’m glad to report this 2016 is phenomenal! Hour of slow ox reveals aromas of plum, sweet blueberries, cinnamon, orange zest, pumpkin spice and a cool minty zest. The palate is rather integrated for a young wine and shows cool blue fruits, red tone fruit and classic Coombsville nuances.

Popped this the other evening. First tasted this up in Napa back in March. similar impressive results this time around. Decanted for 2 hours, needed about 2 hours more to really gain in volume mid palate. Nice finish with smooth tannins that suggest the best years are still ahead.
