Decanted for 2 hours, and my favorite terroir did not disappoint. I know what I like and Hundred Acre Ark is it. Notes of black cherry, blueberry, violets and graphite with silky tannins and a 30-second finish. With a Cowboy Star steak, it can’t be beat!

Slow Ox for 1.5 hours. Given the current price for gold, it made me reexamine how well the 24k ring of gold was really fired into the glass. For a challenging year, the wine is exceptional, assuming you like the very fruit forward style. Black and red fruits in waves enveloped in sweet Oak with some spice, the faintest touch of eucalyptus mint, some violets that took me by surprise, and dusty tannins that still have some backbone to them …

This is dense Cabernet. Pronounced aromatics kirsch, black cherry, wet underbrush, , and cigar paper. Deep maroon color, long legs. On the palate there are strong flavor of black cherry, sage, a whiff of coconut, toasted marshmallow, extinguished campfire, and tobacco leaf. 97 or better with food. This is a highly extracted winter warmer Cab.

decanted some 30 minutes after opening, and started drinking a little more than 1 hour after opening. Minty, a bit earthy, and actually a little savory on the nose. Definitely showing cool fruit, and surprisingly not as jammy as expected. Really opened up after 2 hours, and showing smoky notes, too. Delicious.

Young, but very approachable. Bold, deep ruby color. Hints of flowers, pepper. Earthy with a very smooth finish. A favorite of the tasting group.

I know I’m biased with HA but this is so pure and luxurious- drinks like water - I don’t think it could get better but has a little bite on the back end so I think it could go longer but it’s definitely drinking smooth - couldn’t even decant it was going down too smooth

Really good wine but for the price it was a little disappointing. Again, it was VERY good but I think the ‘06 Dominus was better and a hundred bucks (or 2) cheaper. Still, I’d been looking forward to opening this one and NYE was the perfect night! Great wine but pricey…

What a special wine. I took this to my parents' annual Christmas Eve dinner. It did not disappoint. Instead, every wine we had AFTER this wine just didn't measure up. This wine is in its perfect drinkability window. The fruit is perfectly on display. The wine is still young, but not too young. I see great things for this wine for the next 5-10 years. It was nectar of the Gods. Merry Christmas!! (PS I decanted it for about 90 …

Just pure joy in a bottle. Decanted for 4 hours and drank with a charcuterie meat & cheese board and a nice filet at Cowboy Star. The aromas were complex with black fruit up front, violets, and graphite. Some lavender as well. Full-bodied with blackberry and raspberry, light cedar and tasty minerality. Grippy tannins that turned silky over the course of dinner. Phenomenal finish that went on for 30 - 45 seconds!

Mellowed out significantly. Become way more subtle and smooth. The alcohol is there but completely integrated. Theres no desire to please. A bit of menthol. Relaxed fruit. Voluptuous herbal notes. Winter fire and the thick blankets that go with it. A wine like no other.

The wine just does not quit! A 96 for one hour and otherwise a 92, so I am giving the bottle a 93. Slight alcohol on the nose, but the cherry, cinnamon, and red raspberry still came through. This is probably due to the high alcohol level. The palate is warm with cinnamon, plumb, prune, cassis, and leather. Not the best combination of descriptors and certainly not like the sweet fruit forward younger Cali Cabs. Decanted for one hour and …

Popped and poured. Slow ox for 2 hours. Classic flashy style Hundred Acre. Big, attractive perfume emanates from the glass. The wine shows oodles of glycerine and length. Black raspberry and cherry fruit, with some gravel and tobacco notes. Layers of flavor.

In the enchanting setting of A Festa Restaurant in Corsica, where the air was heavy with the scent of jasmine and sea salt, I found myself enraptured by both the company and the exquisite wine that graced our table. It was there, amidst flickering candlelight and the gentle strains of a distant serenade, that I shared an intimate moment with the one who had captured my heart. As we uncorked the bottle of 2013 Hundred Acres, the anticipation hung thick …

California Wine Weekend; 12/1/2023-12/3/2023 (Mos Eisley Cantina & Waterhouse Restaurant) : This offered impressions of red fruit, jammy blue fruit, sandalwood and spice. Not as hot as the other wines in this flight but more anonymous. Ark is a rugged site tucked away in the base of Glass Mountain that has a strong impression of terroir in some vintages, but not the case today. Hundred Acre went to extreme measures in 2009 to get the fruit quality, ripeness and extraction …

We really enjoyed this wine with our Easter lamb. A full mouthful of dark fruits, blackberries, cherries, plum as well as notes of chocolate, and vanilla. Tannins were noted but not excessive. This wine was the favorite for the meal which paired with a Ducru Beaucaillou from 2008.

Kiawah 2022; 8/6/2022-8/13/2022 : I'm liking these less with age. The fruit bomb factor fades and you're left with just kind of flabby fruit. It's still nice, but just kinda "meh" for the price
