I didn't realize this was a Ryan because back in the day… Dumol just called it Ryan. I always liked their Ryan. It was one of the few single vineyard wines that was a decent step up from the appellation offering from any California pinot producer. This has a touch of the Dumol Russian river appellation profile, but it's not as intense. Instead, there is another layer of fruit that is more like soil. It’s smooth and tannins are low …

Big vanilla oak on the PNP. Strawberry and raspberry enrobed by a spicy vanilla on the nose. Fruit medley; crushed fresh Strawberry, raspberry, Bramble, briar patch, medium with youthful tannins . Balanced. A seemingly fading finish, turns out to be persistent. Very enjoyable now, with a decade + to go! I had to revise my score; just keeps improving in the glass. Update it to 95pts! I would give this a decade to get a little bit fabulous. 99 in …

Medium-deep bright garnet in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & mulberries with overtones of floral, spice & earthy/dusty notes, herbs, minerals & a slight hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, mulberries & cranberries with spices, minerals, herbs & a slight hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with extended airing at …

Darker red and blue fruits, a light touch of spice, with an extended and satisfying finish. The fruit is somewhat ripe, but not heavy at all. Really balanced and delicious. In its drinking window now, but can age further, assuming good cellar storage.

A excellent pinot. I bought it directly from the Dumol wine club.

One of the better Pinots I have had in a while really well structured. Red fruit aromas strawberry and cherry are very pleasant. Medium body and medium acidity very balanced wine. Was a hit with the family at Thanksgiving dinner.

PnP...first taste the wine showed really great strawberry/blueberry flavors with balancing acidity. With time in the glass the acidity began to take center stage and the fruit moved more to the background. Hopefully with more time in the bottle the flavors will balance themselves out and this will improve significantly. Hold for now...I'll let my other bottle lay down until at least 2025.

Medium body & dark robe. Nice round dark fruit flavors with good balance and finish. Outshined the 2017.

Still needs several years to come around. Dark fruited with oak showing a little too much. Borderline tannic.

Standoffish and acidic, which isn't surprising given how early I opened this. There's some potential power in here, but it's hard to coax out much of a flavor profile. I think the minerality will be more dominant than the fruit -- not that there's anything wrong with that. Time will tell how it comes together. For a preliminary rating range, I'm thinking 89-92. I'd look forward to revisiting it in two or three years.
