Acidic with little nose. Tannic upon opening but quickly smoothed out. Flaw in cork likely the reason this bottle didn't have more to offer.

Tasted over 2 hrs -nearly semi-translucent med red mild clearing at edge -black cherry hard candy -med+ acidity, med- weight tart tangy rocky black cherry saline mineral with a slight bitter streak providing additional complexity, med- tannins -vibrant lively lovely drinking perfectly now and no hurry either with easily 5+ excellent years ahead of it

Well, this bottle is providing a richer experience that my last two bottles. I like the nose of sour cherry fruit. It has sour cherry and raspberry fruit, nice minerality, good acidity and a medium finish.

I do like the wines from Pierre Guillemot and have had many vintages from the different premiere cru vineyards. The 2011’s seem to be more lean than usual. This wine has a light red color and is light bodied. It has nice sour cherry fruit, soft tannins, forest floor and a medium finish. I don’t find the acidity to be too much. Quite enjoyable, but not a rich, full Burgundy.

Tasted over 2 hrs -semi-translucent dark red purple -lifted bright red fruit with a mildly green note -med+/high acidity, med/med- weight with just enough concentration to buffer the acid focused tart black cherry liqueur saline, med- tannins accentuate by the acid spine -very pleasant, very Guillemot, very 2011; drinking well now and while this won't be a prolonged ager it should do fine for another 3-5+ years

N: nice, berries P: tart, raspberry, leather. Tartness is too dominant but nose and palet shows some nice elements.

Totally agree with the description 'forest floor pine needles'. Mild earth-funk, complex leather, vegetative and raspberry-cherry aromas. High acidity, fine tannins, long finish that reprises much of the aromatics. Tartness throws the balance off a bit, but a minor nit given the various layers of interest present.

Consistent with previous tastings but the strawberry, cranberry, and red cherry notes are more sweet and tart. High-toned, racy, and vervy, this has a mute nose but a tangy, layered palate that lingers for almost a full minute. Developing some complexity (red fruit, sour, and funk) and weight, though this is a lighter-style Pinot. Drink 2020-2026. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 92.

Tasted over 3 hrs -nearly semi-translucent med dark black red mild bricking -expressive deep-pitched ripe candied black cherry faint wood spice -med+ acidity wrapped in enough extract to retain a soft texture but still give a strong kick on the finish, med/med- weight sappy liqueur-like red-black fruit takes on a mildly medicinal tone, med/med- tannins good length -dark fruit and rather big for the producer and vintage, very similar to a bottle tasted last year, in a great place now …

12+ months later: similar, but this time there was a pronounced, and pleasant, essence of savory forest floor pine needles. Highly enjoyable over three nights.

Consistent with notes a year ago but it's now more accessible. Linear but balanced. Not complex but fresh and stony. Did not decant and paired with roasted chicken and sweet potato over a few hours. Orange peel with high-toned notes of strawberries and cherries along with rhubarb and vivid minerality. Drink now through 2022. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 92.

Light ruby with translucence at the edges. Orange peel. First impression was of restraint and elegance. Over days two and especially three it took on depth and complexity. Quite enjoyable, as was experiencing the evolution.

PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs -nearly semi-translucent dark red with mild clearing -restrained dark berry mineral -med acidity, med/med- weight, low key dark berry raspberry red apple peel with a bit of soil influence, med chalky tannins and a kiss of oak -darker fruit profile and less prominent acidity than prior bottles, pleasant now but needs a few more years

PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs -nearly semi-translucent med dark red minimal clearing at edge -candied black cherry faint herbal/green note -med/med+ acidity, med/med- weight low profile dark cherry slightly creamy expansive soft oak hint, med- tannins -dark and soft for an '11, this is drinking really well now and undoubtedly on its plateau, while there is no hurry I don't think the '11s are going to be extremely long-lived

Opened and decanted with roasted chicken, potaotes, and salad. Orange-ruby crimson color. Nose brings candied raspberries, rhubarb pie, fresh cut violets, and dried cherries. The palate is medium, crunchy, tight, and tart, bringing cherries, raspberries, rhubarb, lavender, and orange rinds into a dry, dusty finish. Tried this in the name of science. Decanted for 2.5 hours. Darker ruby. Nose of horse poop, earth, violets, caramel, underbrush. Lots of layers on the palate, mainly tart black cherry and red plum laced with brambles, licorice, earth, anise, and iron. Full of youth and soul. Freshening acidity and firm, structured tannin. Long, persistent finish of boisterous darker fruit, snappy grip, and iron. Flat out entertaining with loads of upside. I could get used to this.

This was awesome. Great poise and balance in the glass. Aromatically explosive as soon as it was popped. Very fresh and lively, a bit of herbal influence going on with thyme, white pepper, a little barnyard, cherry, red apple. Very acid driven palate with good length. Unbelievable value. Affordable red burg that tastes like this? Count me the fuck in.

Remarkably good shortly after opening. Has a powerful, earthy aroma that keeps going. The flavor follows suit with mushroom, truffle, and earth. Rather funky. For a 4 year old Premier Cru this is drinking amazing now. Will be interesting to see where it goes.

Ruby color, nose is filled with red fruits (cherry, cranberry, raspberry), floral notes, and hints of spice. The palate is elegant, but also retains just a bit of rusticity from the tannins. This seems like it will develop very nicely over the next 5-10 years. A nice burgundy for the price.

Medium red color, light body. Chalk, sarsaparilla, and dried leaves on the nose. Dry palate with more earth than fruit, and a chalky medium acid finish with light to moderate tannins.

France: 38 Wines from Kermit Lynch (E&R Wine Shop, Portland OR) : Spicy green notes on the nose. Quite perfumey and tart. Nice spicy, tart, puckering, and lean palate. Decent fruit, with a medicinal green note throughout as well. Good depth on the finish, showing some real elegance. Slightly spicy and green. Nice stuff.
