Domaine Serge Laloue Sancerre Rosé

My first red Loire, drunk over two days. The note refers to the second one. Light and transparent red. Reticent nose which finally gives something: slightly unripe black cherries, a hint of a balsamic note and a bit of raisins. The palate is the worst part, tart and strongly astringent. Not a pleasure.

Terroir-istes International - Rose-France, Australia & South Africa (Rodwell House) : Deep pink almost light- ruby. Bagsfuls of fruit on the nose with strawberry, spice, white pepper and red cherry. The palate is tightly knit with vibrant acidity that opens to far more wild strawberry and ripe raspberry characters. Soft on the palate and elegant the wine has some breadth but feels far more sanguine and smooth textured, aka more Pinot Noir than Grenache. Integrated alcohol there is a lovely …
