Lakeshore Sports Wine Night (Chicago, IL) : Walkaround tasting. Wonderfully floral start along with stone and orchard fruit that easily manage to retain brightness and energy. A great village wine.

On the nose vanilla and lemon. On the palate, citrus and brioche with a full body. Lemon stays on the palate for ages. Oak still quite present so may be better to let this rest for a bit

Waterford Wine Co. Burgundy Festival (Waterford Wine Co. - Milwaukee WI) : Walkaround tasting. Lots here for a wine this young. Fresh and dried orchard fruit with lemon custard. Also very good concentration for wine at this level. Wonderful now, better in another year or three.

Nose: Lemon. Vanilla. Nuts. Smoke. Palate: Significant new oak. Vanilla. Hazelnut. Lime. Cream. Melon. Medium plus acidity. Medium plus body. Medium plus intensity. Medium plus finish, lemon. Very good, should age well over the next few years. Time will let the oak intergrate the wine.
