Wow, a great white Bordeaux at a fair price. This wine has plenty of acid along with minerality, melon, stone fruit and citrus.

Said to be a blend 44% Semillon, 37% Sauvignon Blanc and 19% Sauvignon Gris. Light gold color. A nice balance of lush stone fruit with a lemon citrus / minerally edge and great acidity that keeps this both delicious and vibrantly fresh. A more complete and layered wine than most domestic or southern Hem sauvignon blancs. Elegant but also plenty of youthful but unoffensive energy. 12.5% alc Paid $20 and totally worth it. Revisiting Graves (Vinexpo, Bordeaux) : Not as impressive as the Chantegrive Blanc. This barrel sample, tasted just afterwards, seemed less focused and not as precise in its delivery. There was freshness and citrus aspects, but not as pronounced. I also detected less briskness overall, as if the sample itself lacked the energy expected from this vintage. Perhaps it was just the sample?
