How do you take wine from a top grand cru climat in a good vintage and produce something on par with or below a Bourgogne? I have no idea, but this bottle exemplifies it. Disjointed, acidic, limited fruit, hardly drinkable. Popped, decanted a few hours then poured it out.

A very powerful wine and still very tight. I opened and double decanted 3 hours before serving, in a family dinner, deep red, subtle nose but very attentive, mouthful palate, strong structure, could be hold for years.

A savoury and red fruits, earthy spices and cedar on the nose. Palate is rich, fresh and layered. Medium-bodied and deep. Good balance and polished edges. Seamless transition to a long and deep finish. Still going strong and can age for another 5 years.

The year end dinner for parents arranged by Jim with themes of 10,15 YO vintages, I brought two bottles of 2009 Chambertin, both slow OX for 12 hours, and this bottles shown still very young, powerful, structured. This wine has many years to go.

Bottle 4 from the case bought on release Finally beginning to open up - very fine tannins, gorgeous fruit, structure and balance - but just get the sense this needs a bit more time to show at it’s very best Already drinkable especially post a healthy decant but would wait 3+ years before opening another Would keep at least 2+ decades. Would think post that Really nice bottle

Elegant. Very moldy in the beginning, perfect cork but from an old cellar. Always love that. 3 hours opening, don’t decant. Bit over the hill and not the most pronounced, but still going strong. Soft but present tannins. Plenty of red fruits and stems inclusion. Plenty of dark earth. You can taste the weaker vintage lacking intensity and power. You could call this a like a Leroy village or good premier cru, but with this age and the elegance this …

Tortochot Dinner (DeClassic Golden Spoon, Seng Poh Lane, SIngapore) : A very pleasurable wine. Not the most complete Chambertin, but certainly very enjoyable. It had an amazing nose, with a sexy bouquet of dark cherries shading into ripe plum aromas, these laced with some savoury, earthy notes, a touch of wood spice, some orange peel, and then some lovely floral undertones. A lovely, perfumed melanage. The palate showed some of the round ripeness of a warm vintage, but it was …

Took a long time to open up but remained very earhty and on the rustic side. There is good fruit volume here but have they gotten the tannins right. In any case I would not open this before 2025. Also decanting is key for now.

Deep ruby color, subtle nose and firm structure. Too young and should be revisited 5 years later.

Pnp, deep ruby where there is stem, red fruits and smoky oak. Concentrated with sweet fruits, refined acidity blended well with minerals that added to the complexity od the wine. Plenty of life ahead though very enjoyable at present. Not the earthy kind of Chambertin but I adore it a lot.

Needs 1-2 hours decanting. After that develops nicely.

Not corked or due to bottle variation, just a poor wine. Burned, synthetic, nail polish and alcoholic on the nose. Same notes on the palate and a little simple fruit. Way past drinking time, and propably never was good. 70 and pour in the sink.

a little bit heavy with too strong fruitiness. lacks elegance. maybe good for preparation of Boeuf Bourgignon.

Rich and clear color. Love the energy in the nose...bramble berry and cool black fruits. Balanced flavors and a very long finish with complex chambertin animal flavors say this may be a conservative score over time...winner.
