As this wine gets a bit older, the oak is starting to take over. Which is a big problem for this wine. It's going down-hill, so drink up unless you love oak slathered all over your palate. (Or chew on some wood -- which may be cheaper.)

Bright pear, mineral promise a lot, but the vanilla oak overwhelms and sweetens the fruit. It provides pleasure but tastes of residual sugar.

Nice aromatic nose of lemon zest, honeydew melon and tart apple. Nice mouthfeel, good acidity and structure. Lovely taste of apple and melon, with some honey and fig on the midpalate and a finish that is pure buttered popcorn. Very nice wine. Easy to drink. Not overly oaked.

Very nice California Chardonnay. Good balance between the fruit and the oak which is not too heavy. Had it with a delicious wild mushroom risotto and it worked very, very well. Good acidity as well. Will be interesting to see how this one develops over the coming years.

A big chardonnay that should improve over the next few years as the alcohol integrates with the fruit and the wine settles. This is a rich wine that goes best with richer foods. I preferred to serve this wine colder than I normally would serve chardonnay as it gave it a more refreshing quality. This is the first Audelssa chardonnay and I think they are on to something good and different.
