This was amazing given the age. Still very crisp and good acidity. Some sweetness but only a small amount. Some lychees and mango but mainly steely freshness.

This was my secret santa present from work seven years ago - and it's jolly good - full, very rich, some sweetness, some dimension - vg.

Medium to full body, deep, ripe melon yellow color, highly aromatic, tropical fruits, peach, pineapple, may be mango, vanilla, smoky notes and spices aroma, peach, pineapple, sweet apples, may be melon, sweet pears and mango, spices and slightly herbal on the palate, some citrus (grapefruit) notes on finish, very long tropical fruits finish, still fresh (in spite of past maturity), light acidity, too sweet, food friendly. Well associated with fish, sea food, mild cheeses and also fowl. Serve 10º - …

Very good value for money. Pale in colour, nose crisp and pineapple/granny Smith, taste full and long, initailly sweet finish which disappeared after half an hour. Gooseberry and a hint of spice

Diam cork. The wine offered lemon, apple, pear, peach, pineapple, almond and salty/mineral notes on the nose. On the palate the wine showed citrus, lemon, grapefruit, apple, pear, peach, pineapple as well as mineral and salty notes, joined by bitter almond on the pleasantly bitter finish, paired with a mild spiciness, medium-plus acidity, a medium-rich mouthfeel and very good length. The dry, medium- to full-bodied wine tasted fresh and was well-balanced. A very good Pinot Gris; would buy again.

An admirable example of a straight pinot gris - warm, ripe and spicy, but not too heavy, very attractive indeed

Visits to Two Alsatian Classics-Trimbach and Hugel; 4/19/2013-4/21/2013 (Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr) : Low toned orange oil. Light to medium weight (definitely not oily as this varietal can be), minimal sucrosity. Round but great acidity with a touch of bitterness at the end. Very good at this level.

Floral nose with pear and pineapple. Fresh dry onset, many layers of ripe fruit on the mid-palate, because of this appearing slightly sweet but no real residual sugar noticeable. Silky texture but overall only medium bodied. Mineral notes and some smoke at the finish. Balanced wine.

Pale, limpid colour with a very tight, unyielding nose. Much more open on the palate with powerful citrus, ripe and almost a touch sweet in style. A noticeable hit of alcohol on the finish.

Sweeter than expected, riper than expected, better than expected. A rich, creamy alrounder, coped brilliantly with lobster, scallops, duck and salade nicoise at the great informal restaurant "De Belhamel" in Amsterdam. A tad overpriced at 43€, but such excellent winemaking we couldn't complain. 89P
